Biopower functioned at the level of populations, as with demography, while a complementary “anatomo-politics” functioned at the level of the individual.

Despite its benign façade, Foucault recognized that this new form of power, also called “biopolitics,” was significantly more efficient in dealing out death than sovereign power of old"

Someone thoughtfully sent me this. I hadn’t seen it before.
In this short speech, I found myself agreeing with David Martin substantially.
I’m somewhat confused because I thought I remembered him presenting on gain of function viruses & I have a problem with those.
Sharing because it’s certainly altered what I think about Dr Martin. He also mentioned two lawyers, both of whom I spoke to when I was in the US & I found both of them honest and forthright.

Reminder that in 1969, Planned Parenthood produced a memo recommending strategies for population control. These include “restructuring the family,” encouragement of increased homosexuality, tax funded abortion, "fertility control agents in the water supply," and sterilization.
