๐บ๐ธ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ทโก- "At the outset of the Iran conflict, Saudi Arabia denied the United States permission to use its airspace and military facilities for Project Freedomโa U.S.-led effort, ordered by President Trump, to secure the Strait of Hormuz. The refusal forced Washington to temporarily suspend the operation. American officials responded by applying pressure, including signaling that future missile defense support could be withheld. Riyadh ultimately backed down and approved the request.
The dispute has since exposed tensions within a traditionally strong bilateral relationship. Saudi leaders interpreted recent U.S. diplomatic behavior as dismissive, while officials in Washington are now reportedly reassessing their regional postureโpotentially scaling back their military presence in the Kingdom and redirecting assets toward partners such as Israel and Jordan," - The Wall Street Journal.

Vice President JD Vance learnt of the secret plans and immediately told Turkey's Erdogan, knowing Erdogan would reject Kurdish expansionist policies. The plan ultimately failed after Vance leaked its details.

๐ธ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซโก- Yesterday morning, the anti-government Central African Republic (CAR) rebel group FRPC launched a large-scale attack on the border town of Am Dafok, capturing it and holding the area for nearly 24 hours. The town, located along the SudanโCAR border, is strategically significant as it lies on the RN8 corridor and serves as a key route linking CARโs Birao Airport to Sudanโs Darfur region, a major supply route that has been used by the UAE to arm the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The area on the Sudanese side of the border has long been influenced / controlled by the Russian African Corps (formerly Wagner Group), as marked in red on the map.
This morning, a coalition force consisting of Chadian militants (RPJET), Russian air and ground elements, CAR government forces, and pro-RSF Misseriya Arab fighters launched a counteroffensive and successfully retook the town. The timing of the FRPCโs assault coincides, ironically, with the ongoing offensive operations by the Joint Darfur Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces in northern Darfur, just across the border.
Africa Intelligence reports that CAR President Faustin-Archange Touadรฉra has been invited to Abu Dhabi, as Bangui seeks to ease reliance upon Moscow. According to the report, the UAE is offering security guarantees and military support in exchange for the CAR Armed Forces taking a more direct role in the Sudanese conflict on the side of the RSF.
- Note 1, reports allege FPRC was assisted by the PRNC in its attack on Am Dafok, but these reports cannot be confirmed.
- Note 2, on the map, unmarked territory in CAR indicates no government control / anti-government rebel control.

๐ธ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ท๐บ - Note, Russiaโs rapid response to the capture of Am Dafok by anti-CAR rebel groupsโcompared to its more muted reactions elsewhere in the countryโsuggests that Moscow continues to prioritize its interests linked to the Rapid Support Forces.
Note, Russia mostly withdrew from Sudan in 2021, and have stopped actively supporting the Rapid Support Forces.

๐ช๐น๐ช๐ทโก- Former head of the Tigray Interim Administration, Getachew Reda, claims the Tigray Defense Forces, TDF, along with Eritrea will launch an offensive on the Tigray region in the coming days.
๐ช๐นโก- "Currently, the Ethiopian government is mobilizing its forces from western to eastern Tigray in preparation for renewed war. The existential threat against the people of Tigray continues.
The federal government has previously violated the peace agreement [Pretoria Agreement] by drone striking the Tigray.
There are forces of which I shall not name [Tigray Peace Forces, TPF] that have committed national betrayal by working to trigger another war in Tigray.
The statements of the United States and the European Union are unjust, they are placing pressure on the TPLF while failing to hold the Ethiopian government accountable.
We will not negotiate on the fundamental interests of the people of Tigray," - Fetlework Gebregziabher, Member of the TPLF Executive Committee, and a member of the TPLF-separatist faction, TDF.

๐ฎ๐ท๐ด๐ฒ - Contrary to circulating claims, maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has remained stable and has not dropped to wartime levels.
The number of vessels crossing the strait on:
June 30: 34,
June 29: 42.
This is consistent, if not better, with traffic observed immediately following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding:
June 19: 22,
June 20: 42,
June 21: 28.
Traffic since the latest U.S.-Iran flare up has not declined, despite IRGC-propaganda. Traffic continues along BOTH established corridors: the IRGC-designated route and Omanโs IMO-recognized lane.
Source: Kpler.
Note, pre-escalation (February 28) traffic averaged significantly higher at approximately 130โ140 vessels per day, with a mean of around 133.
