🇱🇧🇮🇱⚡️- BREAKING: Israel has targeted a Lebanese Army brigadier general and other personnel in an assassination strike on the Khardali–Nabatieh road.

🇺🇸🇷🇼🇨🇩⚡- Rwanda has, for the first time, indirectly confirmed the presence of its troops in M23-controlled areas of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The acknowledgement came after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called on Kigali to honour its commitments under the ceasefire agreement and withdraw its forces from the DRC, a process that was meant to be completed by July. In response, Rwanda’s Foreign Ministry accused Kinshasa of breaching the US-mediated deal, insisting that any withdrawal would only take place once the FDLR militia has been fully disbanded. The FDLR remains active and operates with the Wazalendo.

The exchange comes amid increasing political pressure from Washington, which recently imposed sanctions on senior Rwandan officials.

"Following the alerts that were activated a short time ago in several areas in the north of the country, surface-to-air missile launches were identified towards [Israeli] Air Force aircraft, and therefore alerts were activated in the northern communities.

🇱🇧🇮🇱⚡️- "Joseph Aoun, strongly condemned the Israeli attack that targeted a patrol of the Lebanese Army on the Khardali-Nabatieh road this morning, which resulted in the martyrdom of two officers and a soldier who joined the caravan of those who preceded them among the military and civilian martyrs, children, women, ambulance and rescue personnel, and media workers, watering the dear land of the South with their pure blood.

President Aoun considered this attack to constitute a flagrant violation of Lebanese sovereignty and of international laws and norms, coming in the context of ongoing escalation that threatens stability and security in the South despite the efforts Lebanon is exerting in the Washington negotiations to put an end to the ongoing Israeli attacks without deterrent.

🇱🇧🇮🇱⚡️- The Israeli Defence Force's statement on the strike that hit a Lebanese Army Vehicle. They claim the vehicle was misidentified as a Hezbollah vehicle as it was in a combat zone:

"- Earlier today (Saturday), the Israel Defense Forces identified a vehicle moving suspiciously toward the troops near the village of Tebnine in southern Lebanon.

- The vehicle was traveling in an active combat zone that had been evacuated, and an alert was received regarding gunfire directed at Israel Defense Forces troops in the area. Available information with the Israel Defense Forces also indicates that Hezbollah is operating extensively in this area.

- Following the identification of the vehicle, and based on the warning information and the danger it posed to the troops, it was targeted, with initial examination results revealing that two officers and a soldier from the Lebanese Army were inside the vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.

- It is noted that movement in a combat zone requires coordination with the Israel Defense Forces.

- The Israel Defense Forces is investigating the incident and will draw the necessary lessons according to the results. We emphasize that Israel Defense Forces troops operate against the terrorist Hezbollah and not against the Lebanese Army." - Israeli Defence Force.

🇪🇹🇪🇷⚡- An unidentified convoy of vehicles in the Sheraro area of northern Tigray, Ethiopia, was drone struck by the Ethiopian military.

The convoy had entered Ethiopia from Eritrea. Initial reports suggest at least nine casualties.

🇨🇳🇯🇵🇵🇭⚡- China’s Ministry of Transport has announced the launch of a “special maritime traffic law enforcement operation” in waters to the east of Taiwan.

According to China Central Television (CCTV), the move was undertaken in response to the recent announcement by Japan and the Philippines of maritime boundary negotiations in the same area—an initiative that Beijing asserts encroaches upon China’s "sovereignty and maritime rights".

Victims have been transported to the hospital. The shooter is not in custody.

Samvel Karapetyan, the current leader of the Strong Armenia party, is currently under house arrest for threatening to overthrow the government in 2025.

Tensions between Russia and Armenia have increased recently as Armenia shifts away from Russia and is increasingly moving towards Europe and the West.

🇺🇸 - The USS Nimitz (CVN-68) has departed Jamaica after finishing its Southern Seas tour of south America and is underway again.

The Nimitz is scheduled to return to Naval Station Norfolk to be decommissioned.
