The Russian President stated that Moscow had urged Tehran to avoid striking neighbouring Arabian Gulf countries. However, he noted that Iranian officials would respond bluntly, arguing they have come under attack first and felt compelled to retaliate.

🇷🇼🇨🇩🇧🇮⚡- Large convoys of military trucks have begun crossing from Burundi into South Kivu in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, while additional government columns from western DRC are moving towards the Bukavu direction, M23-controlled South Kivu region. This build-up follows a major Wazalendo counteroffensive over the past two months.

In the last 24 hours alone, around 12 trucks reportedly entered the DRC from Burundi, allegedly carrying Burundian troops along with so-called “White” mercenaries (Russian, European, or possibly US- or Israeli-backed fighters).

Government forces, FARDC, haven't yet begun ground operations against M23 as it would be seen as a violation of the ceasefire, despite a relentless aerial campaign during the past two months. The move is unlikely to sit well with Beijing, with Chinese President Xi Jinping having recently reiterated his very strong opposition to Japan’s militarisation in talks with Donald Trump, and casts doubt over the Beijing-Jakarta relationship.
