46 local authorities are set to declare results overnight, the remaining 90 will finish counting across Friday and possibly Saturday.

Still extremely early in the counting process as only 5/136 councils have been declared alongside only 56/4992 local seats.

However media figures, party activists in Labour, Reform, and the Tories, agree that tonight is going to be the largest defeat for a ruling party since the 90s in local elections.
