🇺🇸⚡️- US Supreme Court has ruled that the Voting Rights Act requirement for racial gerrymandering is unconstitutional. This long awaited ruling allows states, particularly red states in the South, to do away with Black majority Congressional districts that were required by the law to exist.

🇨🇭- Switzerland’s population has surged since the 2002 Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons (AFMP) with the European Union, adding approximately 1.7 million inhabitants in a single generation, primarily through immigration. The right-wing Swiss People’s Party (UDC), which spearheaded the initiative, argues that a population of 10 million by 2050 is unsustainable and has drafted specific legal triggers to be enacted through this referendum.

If the referendum passes, reaching a 9.5 million threshold before 2050 would legally compel the government to tighten residency policies, with the UDC specifying that initial curbs must target asylum and family reunification.

Should these measures fail to prevent the population from exceeding 10 million, Switzerland would be mandated to terminate the AFMP, possibly alongside other bilateral agreements with the EU.

This Swiss initiative is a major step in the anti-immigration debate, as it would establish a constitutional obligation for the government to manage demographics with a clear preference for the native population.
