Amichei Stein, quoting the New York Times, says the US has proposed a new interim agreement after the previous one was rejected by Iran. The agreement will allow Iran to enrich uranium at low levels, which will likely be accepted by Iran, as Phase A.

During Phase A, the US will work with regional countries (Qatar and Saudi Arabia) to "develop a permanent plan to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons."

In Phase B, a joint US, Arab-Gulf, and an Iranian company will be established to run Iranian nuclear reactors and centrifuges. The US will build new nuclear reactors for Iran.

However, while the nuclear reactors may be on Iranian soil, the Israeli outlet i24 says the enrichment facilities ran by the new joint company will be outside of Iran. Iran rejects the decision but is open to placing the facilities on offshore Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf, such as the island of Kish.

Once the enrichment facilities start operation (whether outside of Iran, or on Iranian islands), Iran will stop enriching uranium on its mainland.

Amichei Stein says Iran has already received the proposal, which is likely why Iran's Araghchi commented earlier today saying "uranium enrichment is a red line."

🇺🇸🇨🇳⚡️- Two Chinese nationals, Yunqing Jian and Zunyong Liu, have been charged with smuggling a dangerous fungus, Fusarium graminearum, into the US. The fungus is considered an agroterrorism weapon and can devastate crops like wheat and rice. Liu allegedly brought it through Detroit airport in 2024 for research at the University of Michigan, where Jian worked. The university lacked permits to handle such pathogens. Jian, linked to the Chinese Communist Party, faces multiple charges; Liu remains in China.

A US delegation is scheduled to visit New Delhi on June 5-6 to advance negotiations ahead of the July 9 deadline, when suspended tariffs could be reinstated.
