On November 30 at 19:00 Ray State invite everyone interested in sound to our new event — Probe.

Here you can show your own synthesizers, try someone else’s, and talk to people who build sound with their own hands.

Probe works like a small exhibition: bring your synths, modules, effects and DIY devices — everyone can display their instrument so that other guests can try it out.

Program:
• open device table
• jam & bar
• presentations from three makers — a short performance, a talk about the concept and possibilities of their instruments, and an open hands-on session:
Mad Sound Factory
Microrack
Quray

Each maker will show their instruments in action and let you test them yourself. All presentations will be held in English.

Headphones and adapters will be useful so you can comfortably test different devices.

November 30, 19:00
Syndicate, 55 Davit Aghmashenebeli Ave

Entry
With a synth and headphones — donation
Without a device — 20 GEL

“Designing Wavetable Oscillators and Samplers” — Lecture #4 of the Hybrid Modules course

In the final lecture of the course, we dive into the wavetable approach — one of the most flexible and expressive methods of synthesis in hybrid modules.

We’ll break down how a wavetable oscillator works: how the table of waves is constructed, how scanning and interpolation function, and what limitations and advantages hardware implementations have.

We’ll explore FM, AM, and PM modulation in the context of wavetable signals — how they differ, how they behave in real time, and what kinds of sonic structures they can create.

We’ll also cover the role of the sampler in hybrid systems: buffering principles, real-time playback, pitch control, loops, and modulation.

This lecture ties together the key topics of the course — architecture, real-time code, and signal processing — showing how all elements work together inside a modern hybrid module.

Nikolay Golikov — systems and embedded software engineer, artist, and experimental musician.

Required background:
— basic ability to read schematics
— basic understanding of C code

Language: Russian

Entry:
— 20 GEL with pre-registration
— 25 GEL on the day of the event

LOOPA @loopasynth joins us at PROBE.
This Sunday in Tbilisi, you’ll be able to try LOOPA live — hands-on, with the creators, alongside dozens of other synths and DIY devices.

You’ll also see presentations from Mad Sound Factory, Microrack, and Quray — short demos, performances, and a chance to test all the devices yourself.

Come patch, talk, and discover new instruments.

On December 11 we invite you to the lecture “Sound as a Creative Medium” by Lena Chadaeva

REGISTRATION

What is sound beyond its physical nature — mythically, poetically, metaphysically?

To approach this phenomenon from different angles, we will look at sound through several lenses — physical, emotional, and metaphorical.

The focus of the lecture is sound as artistic matter.

We will touch on:
– the physical nature of sound;
– psychoacoustics: how sound interacts with the body and emotions;
– the symbolic and metaphysical layers of perception;
– the discipline of sound art;
– artistic methods that allow us to hear and sense sound differently.

Who this lecture is for
This lecture is for everyone who perceives music and sound as a space of meaning —
artists, musicians, dancers, performers, media artists, and synthesis enthusiasts.

About the lecturer
Lena Chadaeva is a transdisciplinary artist and a graduate of the Willem de Kooning Academy (WdKA, Rotterdam), Transformation Design.

She works at the intersection of digital art, interactive technologies, and anthropology, exploring how electronic media create new myths and foster dialogues between science and spirituality.

In her practice, she treats sound as a bridge between worlds and as a tool for sensory knowledge — an approach she shares in this lecture.

Join us to explore sound more deeply and attentively.

On November 30, our first PROBA took place at the Syndicate studio — an evening where people meet people and synthesizers.

A space where you can show your instrument, try someone else’s, talk, exchange ideas, and discover new sounds. Thank you to everyone who came, brought their synths, shared ideas, and brought so much inspiration.

The following creators also presented their instruments:
— Mad Sound Factory
— Microrack
— Quray
— Lupa

The room was filled with rare synthesizers, DIY devices, micro-modules, and experimental instruments — everyone could patch, tweak, try things out, and talk directly with their creators.
It was an incredibly warm, inspiring gathering.

We hope to see you again. See all photos on our website: https://raystate.art/events/proba3011
