About the course
Hybrid Modules is a three-part lecture series on how to design digital musical devices that combine analog and digital components:
1. Basics of Digital Module Circuitry — November 6, 2025
2. Principles of Software Architecture Programming — November 13, 2025
3. Designing Wavetable Oscillators and Samplers — November 20, 2025
The first lecture, “Basics of Digital Module Circuitry,” will cover:
— Audio and CV (Control Voltage) input/output
— User interface: buttons, encoders, LED indicators
— Choosing a microcontroller for your module
— DSP Spin FV-1: capabilities and limitations
— practical experience of Keen Association
