Need a little help here with the lore.
Anyone have a understanding on if "Devil Swords" and "Devil Arms" are different? Like DSS vs Artemis is there any direct difference?

I decided to drop the first game, and I’m curious what fans of the series think
This is my first time playing DMC. I bought the HD Collection, the fourth, and fifth parts. I'm definitely not saying the first one is bad, but at some point, I realized I was torn between "it's not bad" and "I hate this game." So, having reached mission 17, I think I don't want to continue. I want to share what I didn't like about this part and hear other opinions, but that doesn't mean there are positive aspects.
I'm annoyed by the camera, which works well for older horror games, but here I often can't see what's going on, and I just spent more time on platforming than on combat, and most of the bosses felt pretty easy. I was also really annoyed by how slow this game is. In mission 17, I'm slowly running up a spiral staircase, then down a corridor—just to reach the next area where I’d run a bit further only to trigger a fight (which seemed challenging but interesting), then sprint through long corridors to reach a dragon, defeat it easily, and leisurely platform my way to an item, only to head back down that same corridor where the actual boss fight takes place. What I dislike most is that if I fail—which is quite likely when facing a boss for the first time—I’d have to repeat that whole "exciting" journey of running through corridors and platforming for the item all over again. I decided to skip the first two games, just watch a story recap, and pick up with the third one.

Out of curiosity, what was you guys reaction when you started playing DMC 1 for the first time after playing the latter games first?
Were you turned off? Did you still have fun? Did you hate it? Did you have a hard time at first but eventually came around?
