How to Save Game Objects in a File
I'm pretty new to Unity and today I started implementing a save system to my game. I've been following a tutorial somewhat loosely and everything works fine, except for when I try and save game objects (in this case, guns). I suspect it's because the objects are saved as their instance id, which changes whenever I close and reopen the Unity editor. I could probably just save the game object names and then load a new prefab of the same name from a list of all the guns, but is there another way that allows me to save the game object directly?

How to make a Save & Load System in Unity
In this video, I show how to make a Save and Load system in Unity that will work for any type of game. We'll save the data to a file in both a JSON format as well as an encrypted format which we'll be able to toggle between in the Unity inspector.
