Is it just me, or is "Magic Money: The Bitcoin Revolution" just not very good..?

I've seen the new documentary "Magic Money: The Bitcoin Revolution" promoted a few times here and also in other places, and while I guess I somewhat enjoyed watching it, I just didn't think it was very good. The female voiceover explaining parts of Bitcoin was drab and unexciting, explanations of mining and the distributed ledger were mediocre and would leave an outsider more confused, rather than less, and the demos of sending coins really didn't add anything since those segments could have just as simply been filmed using Paypal or Venmo to the layperson's eye. There was nothing "magical" there. The documentary didn't really do a good job explaining how Bitcoin is secure or what brings it value. It mentioned the unbanked, but rather than point to actual examples of this (such as [school girls in afghanistan](https://www.coindesk.com/how-bitcoin-helps-afghan-girls-achieve-financial-freedom/)) it just glosses over the idea with vague generalities.

You could tell that some of the featured people were excited about bitcoin, but without picking individuals out, it was really hard to see *why* they were excited, nor why anyone should believe the rhetoric about the impending bank collapse.

Am I missing something, or was it just not that great?

I'm now accepting bitcoin on my etsy store for kangaroo leather goods.

I've decided to accept bitcoin as a payment method on my etsy store which sells handmade watch and camera straps made from kangaroo leather. Kangaroo leather is an environmentally sustainable, extremely strong material which ages beautifully. If you're interested check out www.braidmade.etsy.com or shoot me a pm. Thanks!!

How can I support bitcoin?

How can I support bitcoin?

Other than mining, node, trading on localbitcoins, and talking about it to my friends, how can I promote bitcoin?

Have you ever had any luck in, for example, paying back a personal debt in bitcoin, or asking if you could pay your rent in bitcoin?

I have a feeling that might not be tactful...

Of course I could always try to buy things online with bitcoin, but I don't often buy things online anyway...

If the SEC does not reach a decision on the COIN ETF by March 11th then it is automatically approved. Why?

What is the reasoning behind this rule? Doesn't it make more sense for it to be automatically rejected. Is there an incentive for it to be approved in this manner? I would guess that maybe they don't look as bad if something goes wrong later.

Which of the 3 ETF's will be available to Canadians?

As a Canadian if all of the 3 ETFs (SolidX, GBTC, COIN) were to pass which one would I be able to purchase with a TFSA or RRSP etc?.............Someone said COIN will not available to Canadians?

If I purchased GBTC and it became an ETF am I now holding an ETF, just not in a TFSA or RRSP, so there is no benefit?

What can I do to prepare, if I wanted to make a small purchase?

I was reading about CPFP (child pays for parents) recently and I didn't completely get the concept of it.

Can someone please give me a brief explanation of how it should be done and what are the wallets that currently support it?

Is my understanding of CPFP even correct? A user sends a transaction to another, which is not confirmed, that user can send another transaction that is "connected" to it with a high fee, that when a miner mines it, they are forced to mine the first, unconfirmed transaction?

Finally got hardware wallet for BTC - first impressions

I've been dabbling in BTC for past few years - never mined but I did buy BTC here and there (my first big purchases were in $150/BTC days... wish I was there when BTC was $15 ;). Tech problems with online wallets (sites being down) + little bit fear mongering got me to finally bite the bullet and give hardware wallet a try.

Initially I looked into getting Trezor, but since it was out of stock I went with Ledger Nano S. Here is the pic:

After going through setup process, updating firmware, resetting device and restoring seed I can say I'm pretty impressed. It is definitely well rounded and really useful device. I now completely understand why these devices have been selling like hotcakes. Having physical representation of your virtual funds is pretty interesting phenomenon to experience... even when you are programmer and understand that technically Bitcoins are not stored on this device.

The only thing that bothers me is that you need to install Chrome in order to access Bitcoin app... but other than that - viewing your wallet, balances, receiving and sending funds - it's all there and UI is implemented pretty well.

So in a nutshell - you are practically paying $50-$100 to buy peace of mind. I.e. you no longer need to worry whether your online wallet provider will be hacked... or is their site online... or how do they generate wallets... or is your computer compromised... etc.

For most people who are into BTC, price tag vs what you get is pretty reasonable... and I completely understand why these devices are so often out of stock.

If you have any questions - shoot - I'll be glad to answer!
