You will not see anyone who is really striving after his advancement who is not given to spiritual reading. And as to him who neglects it, the fact will soon be observed by his progress.

Why Christmas is On Dec 25th?

There remains then this explanation, which is the most probable one, and held by most scholars in our time: the choice of December 25 was influenced by the fact that the Romans, from the time of Emperor Aurelian (275), had celebrated the feast of the sun god (Sol Invictus: the Unconquered Sun) on that day.  December 25 was called the "Birthday of the Sun." and great pagan religious celebrations of the Mithras cult were held all through the empire.  What was more natural than that the Christians celebrate the birth of Him Who was the "Light of the World" and the true "Sun of Justice" on this very day?  The Popes seem to have chosen December 25 precisely for the purpose of inspiring the people to turn from the worship of a material sun to the adoration of Christ the Lord.
The error of confusing Yule (solstice) and Christmas (the "Mass of Christ"), as if both celebrations had a common origin, occurs even in our time.  Expressions like "Christmas originated four thousand years ago," the pagan origins of Christmas," and similar misleading phrases have only added to the confusion.  While it is certainly true that some popular features and symbols of our Christmas celebration in the home had their origin in pre-Christian Yuletide customs, Christmas itself - the feast, its meaning, and message - is in no way connected with any pagan mythology or Yule rite.
By about the year 1100, all the nations of Europe had accepted Christianity, and Christmas was celebrated everywhere with great devotion and joy.  The period from the twelfth to the sixteenth centuries was the peak of a general Christian celebration of the Nativity, not only in churches and monasteries, but in homes as well.  It was a time of inspiring and colorful religious services.  Carols and Christmas plays were written. It was at this period, too, that most of the delightful Christmas customs of each country were introduced.  Some have since died out; others have changed slightly through the ages; many have survived to our day.  A few practices had to be suppressed as being improper and scandalous, such as the customs of dancing and mumming in church, the "Boy Bishop's Feast," the Feast of the Ass," New Year's fires, superstitious (pagan) meals, impersonations of the Devil, and irreverent carols.
The relentless attacks from Satan include:

Children as young as 5-years-old exposed to Satan Clubs opening in elementary schools across the nation.
Attempts to put a statue of Satan in the Arkansas State Capitol grounds.
Popular TV shows with evil Satanic themes.
Black Masses at a public tax funded center in Oklahoma City.
And Satanic “prayers” officially started off city council meetings in Florida, Alaska and Colorado.
You see it and I know you want to fight it.

Satan is relentless and we must be relentless in our defense.

<LA CIVILTÀ CATTOLICA: THE JEWISH QUESTION IN EUROPE> One hundred years after the French Revolution, the editors of Civiltà Cattolica, the official voice of the Vatican on political affairs, came to a startling conclusion: any country which turns away from laws based on the teaching of the Catholic Church and God’s eternal law will end

10 WAYS TO HONOR CHRIST PUBLICLY THIS CHRISTMAS
<The Role of #Women in the Church>

The frustrated women headlining current media reviews with their demands for ordination are basically devoid of inner peace which is so essential to holiness. They hide their lust for notoriety behind a cry for #equality, their desire for power is called liberation and their sense of #pride – "to be like unto God"- is called #education. They are sadly unaware or have forgotten that a #vocation is a life-affair of service compelled by a desire to imitate our Crucified Savior. They have lost all sense of what the priesthood means, or they would be ashamed of their demands. It is not a job or an ecclesiastical promotion- its attainment is not achieved by a "success-drive."

Why all this fighting over the "role" of women in the Church? It is an already established fact, for anyone with spiritual insight, that Mary, our leading role model, is always within prayer reach to guide us in our quest for holiness, and holiness is our role in the Church. She, the frail "virgin-mother," is our mentor. She, unordained, un-college educated, alone amongst women, towers threateningly over the would-be triumph of the devil, and it is she who will crush his head with her heel, for it is through her and all that follow her example that "God has showed the might in His arm: He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their hearts, because He has exalted the humble." Let us follow her to participate in the role Christ has intended for us in the Church, and not make one to our own liking.

The Catholic's Ready Answer
St. John Vianney, the holy priest of Ars: "God gave men only ten commandments and one of the ten has for its sole object the reverence due to His Name." He used to say that it was an astounding miracle that people who used His Name in vain were not struck dead on the spot. But he warned them, "If the sin of blasphemy is rampant in your home, it will surely perish."

Often His Holy Name is used as an expression of speech, for instance: "My God!" with no real thought of God or calling upon Him. Let us always strive to love and honor the Holy Name of God, using His Name only in prayer and adoration and thanksgiving.

Our Lord revealed to Sr. Marie de Saint-Pierre, a French Carmelite Nun, the need for mankind to make reparation for the terrible sin of blasphemy. He told her: "Oh if you only knew what great merit you acquire by saying even once, 'Admirable is the Name of God' in the spirit of reparation of blasphemy!" Please repeat this holy phrase often, throughout the day.

<Crucial Truths to Save Your Soul>
By Father Nicholas Gruner. This book will show the reader how to protect his soul in this time of confusion in the Church, and how prior generations of Catholics dealt with such times of crisis in the church as we see today. This book is the survival guide that you need, in this worst crisis in the history of the Church!
In the city of Rimini, heresy abounded and people refused to listen to the Truth. The leaders of the city had even ordered everyone to ignore the saint, hoping that no one would be present for him to preach to.

And so it was that Anthony was met with silence and rejection as he tried to do good for the townspeople.

As the heretics and unbelievers of the town mocked him, St. Anthony stated: "Since men do not want to hear the word of God, I will preach to the fish!"

Anthony walked along praying and reflecting upon what had happened. As he walked outside of the town, he came to the mouth of the Marecchia River where it flows into the Adriatic Sea.

There he began to address the crowds, not of people, but of fish.

He called out, "You, fish of the river and the sea, listen to the Word of God because the heretics do not wish to hear it."

Suddenly there were thousands upon thousands of fish neatly arranged in rows, all pushing their heads through the surface of the water as if they were straining to listen.
I am the mother of fair love, and of fear, and of knowledge, and of holy hope.

In me is all grace of the way and of the truth; in me is all hope of life and of virtue. Come to me all that desire me and be filled with my fruits. (Sirach 24:24-26).

Mary, our Hope, have pity on us.
Hope of the Hopeless, pray for us.
