👏🎖 За существенный вклад в развитие Санкт-Петербургского политехнического университета Петра Великого ректор Российско-Армянского университета, д.э.н. РА и РФ, профессор Эдвард Сандоян награжден знаком отличия СПбПУ "За заслуги". Награду вручил ректор СПбПУ, д.т.н., профессор, академик РАН Андрей Рудской в рамках празднования юбилея вуза.
Отметим, что 125 лет назад, 19 февраля 1899 года, император Николай II подписал указ об основании в Санкт-Петербурге Политехнического института. Политехники будут отмечать эту дату весь год. 17 февраля уже прошли праздник для выпускников и ректорский бал. А 19 февраля юбилейные мероприятия начались в домовой церкви вуза — храме Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы, после чего состоялось торжественное заседание Учёного совета университета. ✨ ORIENTAL NEW YEAR✨
Today there will be an incredibly interesting event "Oriental New Year"🧧
What can we expect on this Day?
There will be 3 countries represented: 🇨🇳 , Vietnam 🇻🇳 and Indonesia 🇮🇩 . Each country will surprise us with their national dishes: Gado-gado, Noodles with Zhajiang sauce, Guizhzhong kebabs and many other delicious things, admit it, drool 🤤 ?
Besides food there will be a lot of interesting master classes from cooking to calligraphy🖌, and also guests of the festival will be able to enjoy a concert program prepared by participants from different countries.
This is not to be missed!

SPbPU researchers have created new technologies for self-repair of concrete 🤩
The first method is the use of Hay-Bacillus bacteria. They are activated when cracks appear and produce calcite. It fills all the cracks, restoring the structure of concrete. The second method is the use of microcapsules with grout. When a crack forms, the capsules burst, releasing the contents and filling the crack.
Such formulations are capable of multiple repairs. Thanks to the development, the service life of concrete structures — foundations, bridges and others — will increase, and the cost of repairing them will decrease. Now scientists are conducting numerous tests and plan to adapt the material for specific applications in construction.
The work is being carried out under the guidance of leading researcher of the Laboratory of Self-Repairing Structural Materials Sabri Mohanad Muayad Sabri and chief researcher Vatin Nikolay Ivanovich.

Scientists from SPbPU conducted an experiment at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences 🤩
The unique capabilities of the Shanghai Center allowed SPbPU scientists to make significant progress in the implementation of research under the project «Blurring of structural switching and two-phase states in highly deformed epitaxial dielectric heterostructures» supported by the Russian National Foundation (project number 20-72-10126).
It represents part of a larger joint initiative of the SPbPU team in partnership with colleagues from other universities, aimed at creating new thermal gateways from thin-film heterostructures.
Thanks to the development, it is possible to regulate thermal conductivity without mechanically moving any parts. For example, if clothes could independently transform from summer to winter and back again. Such technologies are used in space to adjust cooling systems, and on the ground for new types of solid-state coolers in electronics.

Organizers prepared for the participants an exhibition of national souvenirs, a real tea ceremony, master classes on making Chinese lanterns, Chinese calligraphy, cooking traditional dishes with tasting and much more. The holiday was as always bright and colorful! 🧡
🗯"I had a great honor to take part in the Eastern New Year festival, which is held annually at my university for all students. Participating in this festival in Russia is an extremely meaningful experience for every Vietnamese person away from home. I am very happy to meet and socialize with other students, exchange cultural traditions to give others the opportunity to learn more about Eastern countries. I am proud to share Vietnamese culture and customs with friends around the world. In the New Year atmosphere here, I can not miss my family and homemade New Year flavors," Nguyen Thi-Hue, a 3rd year student of Advertising and Public Relations, shared her impressions.
