Cooperation with the People’s Republic of China is one of the key vectors of international cooperation of SPbPU. Currently, more than 50 universities and several dozens of Chinese companies are partners of SPbPU. The most active cooperation is with the strategic partners: Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University. SPbPU also works closely with Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Jiangsu Normal University, Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics.

RUS | Good news for international students! 🌟

Foreign citizens studying full-time programs are provided with an opportunity to apply for a temporary residence permit for the purpose of education (hereinafter - TRPE)!

The TRPE is issued for the period of mastering the training program and the following 180 calendar days after the end of the training period, when a positive decision on the issue of TRPE is stamped in the passport of a foreign citizen.

Documents for the issuance of the TRPE are submitted by a foreign citizen in person or through the Uniform Portal of State and Municipal Services to the unit of migration issues, in the territory of which the training takes place.

The TRPE provides with a number of advantages:

🔺 He/she will be issued a multiple-entry visa for the period of validity of the TRPE.

🔺He/she does not have to submit annual notification of residence in the Russian Federation, unlike other residence regimes in the Russian Federation.

🔺A student (postgraduate student) who has received a TRPE will be able to stay in the Russian Federation for the entire period of study and after completion of studies for another six months, during which he/she can apply for a residence permit without leaving the Russian Federation.

🔺It will also be possible to apply for a residence permit within three years after completion of training without obtaining a temporary residence permit.

🔺He/she it is not required to confirm proficiency in Russian language, knowledge of history and basics of legislation of the Russian Federation.

When transferring to part-time or correspondence courses, or early termination of training in a state educational (scientific) organization TRPE is canceled.

After annulment of the TRPE, if there are reasons, a foreign citizen has the right to re-apply for a TRPE without observing the term provided in paragraph 6 of Article 6 of the Federal Law (not earlier than one year from the date of rejection of his previous application for a residence permit or cancellation of previously issued him a residence permit).
