Upgrading Block I and II to the Block III standard ensures consistency in technology, which is crucial for streamlined logistics & maintenance.
While it's positive to have Turkish options available, sticking with the same tech across all blocks makes the most sense from an operational standpoint.
This approach minimizes complexity and maximizes efficiency.
The idea that these upgrades might be aimed at export markets, such as Azerbaijan, is also a strong possibility.

⚡️🇵🇰 In other news, the production of JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jets has exceeded 20+ units per year and is approaching the 30-unit mark. Production figures from 2020-2022 were 8-12 units per year. This increase is to meet both domestic export demands. Azeris and Iraqis are the ones acquiring the jets. PAF is also replacing legacy systems (Mirage III and F-7PG).
