Installing firmware

Note 1: you can't usually install firmware with a lower binary. Binaries can be 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A B C D E F usually preceded by S or U (S5 or UA for example)
Note 2: The binary is the 9th digit in your baseband.
Note 3: the baseband can be found at Settings - About phone - Software information
Note4: if you want to revert to a version with a lower binary, just flash AP and CSC. (It sometimes works) or try this method https://xdaforums.com/t/how-to-downgrade-android-version-in-samsung-devices-if-device-is-in-higher-binery.4561665/

Preparation
On your PC
- Firmware: download from one of these sites

Part A
Unlock Bootloader only if you need to install non standard firmware

Part B
1. Connect phone cord to PC
2. To reboot into download mode
- Turn off phone
- Hold down both volume keys
- Plug into computer

3. Flash each part of the firmware into its slot using Odin
BL_xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the BL slot
AP_xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the AP slot
CP_xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the CP slot
CSC_xxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the CSC slot. (use HOME_CSC if you don't want a factory reset)

4. Factory data reset
5. Wait for the restart
6. Go all the way through the setup process.

A. Preparation

1. Download the exact firmware (including upgrade date) for your device from https://samfrew.com or https://www.samfirmware.net/ or https://www.full-repair-firmware.com/search?q=A20 or

2. Extract recovery.img

B. Installation

1. Boot into TWRP
2. Backup boot, data, system & vendor on older phones
Or boot, data & super on newer phones
3. Wipe caches, data
4. Install ROM
5. For older phones install dmverity

Advanced, terminal and type multidisabler (twice)

6. Reboot directly to recovery from main menu
Note: on some phones you may need to install stock recovery.img into the recovery slot.
7. Reboot to system
8. Wait for welcome screen
9. Go all the way through the setup (never reboot from the welcome screen)

If you have recently installed a kernel containing a custom dtbo.img you need to go back stock dtbo.img from your baseband (not your kernel or your ROM)

I thought of an idea!
I might try flashing just patched ap and CSC from Android 12.
Then I could use Android 11 twrp and Android 12 kernel.
