Okay. I'll give my current and future SHTF Loadout and plans very soon. I'll explain why I chose what I chose and what you should choose for your situation depending on where you live.

So my SHTF loadout isn't really a loadout. Where I am currently, I am a 'bug-in' prepper, meaning I will stay in my home and live off what I have in the event of a mild societal disorder like a financial collapse. The only way I will bug out is if the grid goes down completely, in which case my 'bug-out' location is about 20 miles away. My current loadout for given the suburban/rural nature of where I live is as follows;
-300BLK pistol suppressed w/ LPVO + light-
When shit goes down, every time you fire your rifle unsuppressed, a timer begins to when people with guns will show up to investigate
-30+ PMAGS loaded with 220 subs-
Where I live the longest shot I will have to make between my house and my bugout is maybe 100 yards
-Plate Carrier w/ LVL 4 ceramic plates-
Obviously loaded with 6+ mags, IFAK, etc
Honestly, if you want to know what a great loadout looks like, just go look at the warbox list.
I will add though, when I move, my rifle will change. I will be getting an AR-10. I will be in a more rural location and I will have a thermal scope on it.
I will finish this post with a little experiment. Look out every window of your house and see what the longest line-of-site shot you would have to take is. Chances are it's way shorter than you think. If you have range finder just go out in your area and see how far things are apart. Everyone talks about needing a 1000-yard gun for SHTF. You don't.
You don't need nightvision and all the cool guy shit either. You know what beats a bunch of marauders and bandits with night-vision? A dude with motion sensor flood lights outside his house and a thermal optic.
