Performance for Peace, Brussels, August 2023, 2nd attempt:

After I lost courage, but Pedro decided to continue, I went through a difficult, inner test for a few days (who am I, what do I want, what is important to me, does it make sense what we do). Then we drove back to Brussels. Because we don't want to live in a completely digitized world, we committed civil disobedience. We didn't register the car online to drive into town, we ignored the invention of a "low emission zone" for the city center and we didn't download an app on our cell phones to be able to pay for a parking ticket. After our arrival, when a gentleman with an old lady in a wheelchair stopped next to our coffee table, I asked him if one could borrow a wheelchair in Brussels. He said no, but said he could lend us one, he has two. We were able to visit the city together and get some inspirations for the performance. In fact, I managed 3 performances in the end! Never let fear rule your life. ☀️

Performance for Peace Brussels, Manneken Pis, August 16, 2023:
One of the landmarks of the Belgian capital and the "political capital" of the European Union is a naked boy who pisses at the viewer in a crude, funny way and is thus intended to symbolize freedom of expression, a spirit of resistance and democratic values. There are over 950 costumes for the Manneken, which are used to dress up for birthdays of idols like Elvis and Mozart, when matches of the Belgian national team take place and special occasions like World AIDS Day. The tailor has probably not yet been commissioned with an orange jumpsuit to alert people of indifferent, corrupt politicians and cowardly journalists of the mainstream media to Assange's slow-motion killing.

Performance for Peace Brussels, Grote Markt, August 16, 2023:

The biggest tourist attraction of the Belgian capital is the central square "Grote Markt", surrounded by magnificent guild houses. In order to represent urban self-confidence, independence and economic power through their economic success, the traders and craftsmen built an imposing town hall directly opposite the ducal "Maison du Roi". In addition to the marketplace, the square was also the site of political meetings, court processes, festivals and executions. The critical thinkers are positioned right in the middle, facing the City Hall, saying "We are the people, we are the power."
