The carrier is within striking distance of Iran.

🇮🇷 - Perhaps this was greatly exaggerated. Back then, the escalating tensions, state of civil unrest and USAF activity over Iraq's airspace made the operation seem imminent but was rather poorly coordinated, held-off after being urged by Netanyahu and the GCC states fearing air defense lack of readiness, risk of multi-front warfare and other possible economic strains.

Fast-forward; The USAF is in no hurry, even reluctant to carry out such a complex operation. The entire coalition looks for a capitulation strike that will efficiently achieve their objective promptly, limiting Iranian retaliation to a maximum. The fact that it was near executed on the 14th of January proves that a strike package on chosen targets has already been mapped out.

To make-up for the alignment of the operation; GCC refusal of participation and lack of nearby recourses, the USAF has begun it's military buildup, deploying the "USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72)" carrier strike group, including the (DDG-57), (DDG-74), (DDG-79), (DDG-80), (DDG-84), (DDG-111), (DDG-112), (DDG-117), and the (DDG-121) destroyers, this also comes with 7 other Command and Reconnaissance sealifts. Moreover, "F-15E" Fighter Jets and "C-130J" and "C-17A", in Jordan, other "C-17A", "747-400", "C-5M" & "C-130J" cargo aircrafts to Qatar, Diego Garcia, Kuwait, & Saudi Arabia, as well as 1 "RC-135V/W" SIGINT aircraft to Qatar and a "E-11A" BACN to Greece, & "KC-135R" & "KC-46" tankers to the region, including in Spain.

Flights to the GCC mainly comprised of "Patriot" & "THAAD" reinforcements and deployments, suggesting a defensive posture. Jordan rather emerged as the primary strike hub. Governments and ministries have begun issuing warnings, The USAF and the US-Navy have launched a multi-day readiness exercise yesterday in Bahrain, Trump has outwardly threatened a strike on Iran "greater than that on Venezuela", and the AoR has published statements using vitalist language of an all-out religious war; all which suggest a bracing to an imminent conflict.

It is imminent, likely "a" weekend.

🇮🇷 - The longer time passes, the less likely it may be perceptible that an operation will take place. However this is not the case, infact; it is the complete opposite.

Negotiations are ongoing—It is known that Iran is willing to reasonably implement concessions in its Nuclear program, however ultimately the result depends on Israel’s willingness of reducing its demands, as Iran stands firm on it’s doctrine of self determination.

Nonetheless, stockpiling is still ongoing; in preparation for the failure of negotiations. Like mentioned previously, such an operation with a dictatorial result requires weeks if not months of continuous stockpiling.

Weeks to come.
