I’m not a communist or a capitalist. But even if you want to take the “capitalist” side, the American health insurance industry has very little to do with capitalism. Pricing is opaque, the supply of doctors is artificially restricted, and people pay absurd amounts of money for insurance policies only to be denied care when they actually need it.

Capitalism’s theoretical free market involves the honest exchange of concrete goods and services with clear pricing. That’s not what this is.
