It is obvious that certain events in life cause more psychological strain than others. For example, the death of a loved one is several times more stressful in magnitude than paying back a loan taken for a house. 𝐀𝐧𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬. Therefore, if we take the correct approach, the negative situation may not necessarily be an obstacle to our quality of life. In fact, what may seem like a devastating event, may come to enrich our life in new and unexpected ways. This difference in how we respond to stressful events can be called our coping ability.
A new situation puts us in a new space, which is an opportunity of personal growth, and need not always be accompanied by a lot of stress. If we were in a situation where the body asked us to choose between health and sickness, we would definitely choose health. If the mind asked us to choose between joy and tension, we would choose joy. Being stressful is a natural outcome of unconscious living - managing our mind and body in a wrong manner. It is like using our mind as a gadget without having read the user’s manual.

Remaining focused
Many of us have the tendency to postpone even the most important things to the last moment. We assume we will be able to get things done later. But sometimes the unexpected intervenes and everything collapses under the added strain.
When I remain focused I am able to prioritize. I understand that small tasks can be as important as the larger ones, and I make sure I get them done at the right time. I make sure I leave time for the unexpected, too. This lifts the pressure and allows me to give my best in every situation.

If we consider our professional lives, work should be an expression of joy. In the twenty four hours that we have in a day, most of us are more preoccupied than busy. Our own thoughts and emotions become such a big issue that most of our time is spent in dealing with them. The results than can be achieved simply are then delivered with a lot of difficulty. When we use our emotional intelligence incorrectly, it turns against us. In such moments, we can help ourselves by remembering that at least our own mind and body should work for us, not against us. Stress causes suffering, which limits life to half a step and never a full stride. Today, the most successful people at a materialistic level, carry the most stressful faces. Unless we translate success into life and a great way to live, the society at large will stagnate. For those of us who are reasonably successful in life, carrying a joyful behaviour, therefore becomes a responsibility.
In order to identify what contributes towards building a person’s ability to cope with stress, there are different aspects we can look at. Think First
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Whatever I do, when all is said and done, I do for or to myself. Perhaps I should think before I perform actions because after the seed of action is sown I have to reap the fruit. Moreover, I do not receive only one fruit for every seed sown, I often get a whole crop, good or bad according to the action or seed.

Dealing with stressful situations with a mature outlook is very important. In response to a stressful situation, we can either withdraw ourselves, sleep late, deny what has happened or discharge our frustration by turning against our families and friends. This is a negative way of coping with a difficult situation. 𝗔𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗯𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. These are decisions that are not clouded by emotions and it will also help the person to walk out of the unsuccessful marriage with dignity.
How can we emerge successfully from a struggle and transform a hopeless situation into life activity that can be controlled? We can look at three main steps to enable such positive changes. We should not doubt that our capabilities are not sufficient enough to permit us to determine our destiny. In that sense, we should be self-assured; but at the same time egoless. Our energy should not be bent on dominating the environment, but driven towards finding a way to function within it with harmony. This sense of humility - the recognition that in order to succeed, one may have to play with a different set of rules from what one would prefer, is a sign of a strong human being. The treasures we seek are not outside but within ourselves – beauty, truth, peace, happiness. We have everything we need. Just as in every walk with nature we receives far more than we seek, by looking beneath we become aware of our greatness.

It becomes challenging to do it, as most of us, owing to our social conditioning, become rigidly fixed on our ideas about what defines a happy and successful life. By staying self-assured and making conscious choices and remaining open and involved in the environment, solutions are most likely to emerge. These solutions may open doors to different possibilities, an alternate reality which may not be the same as per our preconceived notions, but they may still be beautiful, if evaluated on the basis of their direct impact on how they make us feel.
In every person’s life, the chances of only good things happenings is very rare. The likelihood that our desires will always be fulfilled is very minute. Sooner or later, everyone will have to confront situations they weren’t prepared for: disappointments, severe illness, financial reversal, and eventually the inevitability of the soul leaving the body in this birth. It is for this reason that courage, resilience, perseverance and maturity are virtues that are so essential to have, in order to lead a healthy and stress free life. Unconditionally Accept
We all find occasion to reject and resist another person. We all like to put up a fight against anything we dislike on the evening news as we spectate the world. But we forget that when we decide we will resist something or somebody, either mentally or physically, we only empower the object of our resistance, either in reality or in our own minds.
If you want to enjoy the ability to influence, always start with acceptance. If you want to disarm another begin with acceptance. If you want to encourage and empower another to change, start with acceptance. Don't make it conditional. Otherwise it's just resistance disguised as acceptance, and you are still trying to control them.

Love Is The Key
Love is a powerful force. It can take us to great heights and leave us feeling light and airy. Yet it has been the most abused and misused force. Many degraded things pass for love.
True love is based on understanding, mutual trust and respect and not simply on transient emotions. Love is being in balance, that is, in harmony with the self, God and each other.
Love dwells in the soul. We must allow this love to flow out and around us. Without love, all of life's treasures are locked away from our vision and experiences, for indeed 'Love is the key.'

God is an Ocean of Wisdom and the Highest and most knowledgeful and powerful soul that exists. Because He is eternally bodiless and does not come in the cycle of birth and rebirth, He knows the World Drama very clearly. God shares His wisdom on Earth at the end of Kaliyug or the Iron Age, with the help of which all souls of the world get purified and the world gets transformed into Satyug or the Golden Age. Let us look at 5 tips for studying God's wisdom everyday -
𝟭. 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗔 𝗙𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 - When we meditate for a few minutes before listening or reading spiritual wisdom, our thoughts slow down and our concentration increases. This helps us in understanding and absorbing God's spiritual wisdom clearly.
𝟮. 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗢𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺 - After meditating, tell yourself that God Himself is going to teach me today and also remember that this study will make me pure, perfect and full of all qualities and powers and I need to study with complete mental and physical alertness.

Because He is eternally bodiless and does not come in the cycle of birth and rebirth, He knows the World Drama very clearly. Let us look at 5 tips for studying God's wisdom everyday -

Natural Flexibility
With humility and love, flexibility becomes natural. When I come across someone who is not being co-operative I need to become humble and try to understand what the other person is communicating, if not through words at least through actions.
When I am able to listen with love and understanding, I will not be rigid anymore but will be able to adapt to communicate and co-operate with others.

Spirituality is an introduction to the wisdom of the soul, God and different dimensions of our life like what are correct actions and what are wrong ones, how we can make a beautiful destiny for ourselves by the right choice of actions based on beliefs of soul consciousness and how we can make a positive relationship with God a part of our daily lives. Let us explore why we need spirituality in our current lives and how it can make a difference?
1. We are at a time in the world, when the number of negative situations in our lives are increasing at a fast speed and at the same time our inner resilience or power to face them is reducing because of a decrease in soul power. These two factors are increasing our stress levels and making our lives more and more difficult. Spirituality is the only solution in our lives which can reduce our stress levels and make our lives easier.
2. Also, as we have been living our lives at a fast pace, the quality of our thoughts, health, wealth, relationships and roles has reduced and we find ourselves in worry and sorrow because all five of these dimensions need our attention again and again. Only listening to spiritual wisdom and practicing meditation can resolve all these dimensions and make them free from all problems.
3. We are at the present moment, according to the wisdom of the eternal World Drama given by God, at the very end of our soul journey of many births, when the soul, after a long journey, has lost its wisdom, qualities, powers and skills and is no longer very pure, positive and powerful. By connecting to God, we can fill ourselves with all of these and begin a new journey of many births again, after returning to the soul world for a short period of time.
4. Today, we have become so attached to our physical identity, that weaknesses like lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego, jealousy, hatred and fear have become our natural nature. Also, we have lost our inner connection with the spiritual self and with God - the Supreme Soul. Only spirituality can clean the soul and make it free of all these spiritual ailments or illnesses.

Making Peace
There is something that you can do to help create peace in the world, and that is to make yourself peaceful.
The first step in this is doing some real soul-searching to find out what has made you peaceless in the first place. Turning your mind within allows you to discover, underneath the many surfaced emotions of everyday life, a deep, undisturbed pool of spiritual well-being. You need to explore that part of the self, not just to understand it, but to experience it again and again. This is a very satisfying experience, one that refreshes the soul and fills it with peace. From this vantage point, it becomes easy to recognise the kind of thoughts and feelings which are self-destructive.
The power of self-realisation will work wonders in transforming these destructive mental habits. You will stop blaming others for your peace lessness, and get on with the work of cultivating your truth.

If your office colleague made a mistake today, will he repeat it tomorrow? If your family member was rude to you today, will he not change tomorrow? Instead of looking forward to a better tomorrow, do you jump to a negative conclusion - These people will never change! Whether we realize or not, everyone is constantly changing, either for better or worse. This means people who gave us tough times today could leave us feeling pleasant tomorrow. We just need to take care that we change to be better – more accepting, respectful, compassionate. Complaining and criticizing deplete our energy further. Understanding that the other person might have had a bad day today, let’s bless both of us: My next interaction with him will be awesome. Our vibrations uplift us and empower them. Each day is a new beginning; each hour is a fresh start. Let’s meet people with a clean slate each time – deleting unpleasant memories, perceptions and preconceived notions from our mind.
Whether we realize it or not, we are all changing at every moment because of information, because of past experiences or because of our desire to change. We and other people are no longer who we were yesterday, last month or last year. When we delete the past images of people, we perceive them fresh in each meeting. Take a moment to prepare yourself to interact with everyone in a healthy manner today. When you remove the filter of the impression you had created based on your previous meeting, you see people the way they truly are today. You stop referring to the past, so you do not influence the present or future with the energy of the past. By doing this you will heal yourself, heal your relationships and radiate clean vibrations.

Determination
Determination is an essential quality to nurture if I am to continue on my spiritual journey. No matter how much enthusiasm I have or how clear my aim is, without determination I will give up sooner or later.
In times of challenge, I take care that determination does not lead to stubbornness; then I can let go of resistance and not oppose anyone or anything with my mind. Instead I take time for meditation, reflect on the most compassionate way to deal with the situation and quietly wait for an approach to present itself.

We celebrate the advent and birth of Sri Ganesh with great faith and enthusiasm, invoking him to destroy obstacles in our life. Most of us are familiar with the mythological story of his birth and his physical form. Like every other festival, 𝐒𝐫𝐢 𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐢 (𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟗𝐭𝐡) holds deeper spiritual significance. Sri Ganesh represents the divinity originally present within each of us. His appearance, symbolic of several virtues, is full of guiding principles for us to imbibe and follow in our own lives.
The story goes that Sri Parvati Ji wanted someone to guard the gate when she wished to bathe. So she created a child out of the dust on her body, breathed life into him and instructed him to stand as a guard. Sri Shankar Ji returned home from an intense meditation of 10 years, but the child Sri Ganesh denied him entry. An annoyed Sri Shankar Ji cut off the child’s head, killing him. But upon learning facts, Shankar Ji placed the head of an elephant on the child’s body and brought him back to life.
Although it is an interesting story, we need to pause and question the flow of certain events in it. How did the deity Sri Parvati Ji have dust on her body, so much as to create a child out of it? How was it possible for the deity Sri Shankar Ji to become so angry soon after returning from years of meditation? Also, he is a merciful deity, why did he kill an innocent child for a minor reason? Why did Sri Ganesh Ji get an elephant’s head and not his own head back?
Introspecting on the essence behind the story shows that answers to the above questions are relevant to our own life. The child that Sri Parvati Ji created from her body represents body-consciousness. His ego did not let him recognize his own father. This symbolizes that when we the souls are body conscious; our ego prevents us from recognizing our own Supreme Father who is the Almighty God or the Supreme Soul. The head represents ego. Sri Shankar Ji cutting the child’s head symbolizes that God finishes our ego and replaces it with a head of wisdom. Wisdom gives us the strength to destroy all our obstacles. The birth and virtues of Sri Ganesh teaches us how to become a Vighna Vinashak or destroyer of obstacles.

We explored the true meaning of the birth of Sri Ganesh. Sri Shankar Ji cut the child’s head and placed the head of an elephant on his body, which symbolizes that The Supreme Father finishes our head of ego and replaces it with a head of wisdom.
1. The large forehead of Sri Ganesh signifies wisdom. When we study the spiritual knowledge given by the Supreme Father and inculcate it in our every thought, word and action, we become full of wisdom.
2. Broad ears shaped like sieves (filters) mean that we consume only that which is good in every person and situation. Imbibing pure information keeps the mind clean.
3. Small eyes are symbolic of farsightedness, which means see the future result of each karma, before we do the karma today.
4. A small mouth of Sri Ganesh is a reminder for us to speak less and each word should be a blessing for our self and others.
5. The trunk is powerful enough to uproot trees and soft enough to pick a child. This means we need to be soft and strong emotionally. We need to keep a balance of love and law while performing our responsibilities.
6. Sri Ganesh is shown with only one tusk. It signifies that we should not be caught into dualities of likes and dislikes, pleasure and pain, pleasant and unpleasant, good and bad. We have to overcome these and develop contentment and remain peaceful in all circumstances.

Time Out
Is there some time for yourself today - just for you, to sit quietly and refresh and renew. Not escaping into the TV, or thrashing around a squash court. Just time to sit quietly, focus your thoughts, check your priorities, make sure there is nothing negative pushing you down in your own mind. Take some time and be ...with yourself. If you don't, you may miss meeting the most important person in your life.
