Reflections from this talk
A lot of high school students put way too much emphasis on the application process and disregard other aspects of their lives that indirectly affect their intellectual abilities. Exercise, outdoor activities, reading for fun, eating good foods, or anything of sorts would probably have a much better impact on your cognitive abilities than a can of red bull and pringles. Good habits go far beyond the application season and will help you a lot in the long run.

Bugun 1 yashar og'limning bir qilgan ishiga ko'zim tushdi. U chiroqni o'chirib yoqib o'ynayotgan edi va har o'chirib yoqqanda ko'zlari hursandchilikdan yorishib maza qilayotgan edi. Shunchalik oddiy narsadan hursandchilik topib maza qilyapti.

Miyalarimiz gormonal darajada buzilib ketgan. Miyamizga kerakli bo'lgan dopamin gormonini topish yo'llari o'ta osonlashib ketgan. Ozgina bo'sh vaqtimiz bo'lishi bilan unga dopamin-hujum qilish biz uchun odat bo'lib qolgan. "Menga dopamin kerak" deyishi bilan biz unga "Mana senga Telegram, mana senga YouTube, mana senga Instagram, mana senga TikTok, mana senga o'yin, mana senga kino, hohlaganingcha va bir zumda" deb javob beradigan bo'lganmiz. Natijada, miyalarimiz erkalanib ketgan. Bir zumda va katta miqdorda dopamin bera olmaydigan ishlar uchun miyamiz yalqovlashib qolgan. U uzoq vaqt kitob o'qish bo'ladimi, maqsadlarimiz ustida ishlash bo'ladimi va hokazo.

Protip for people trying to submit their test scores for free:
Print all the scores you want to send on a paper (IELTS, SAT, etc.). Get it signed and stamped by your school counselor and upload it in the school portal. Alternatively, for schools a bit more strict about this, your counselor should send the same document via email to the admissions office. Voila, you just saved $200.

Human brain is wired to put more importance on negativity when given equal options of negative and positive things. Media companies leverage that by pushing negative stories to the frontpage. But quality of life has been getting better for a better part of the past 2 centuries. Here's proof (no. 23 in the list is about Uzbekistan). Here's more proof. Instead of focusing on negativity, you are way better off focusing on learning and contributing to the progress of human species.
