Imagine 1000 people are infected with a virus.
900 of them have almost no symptoms so they don't go to see their doctor and so don’t get recorded as a confirmed case. (90%)
100 go to the doctor and are confirmed cases. (10%)
3 of them die. (???)

A. What is the real death rate?
B. What is the death rate the media tells people?

Answers:
A. The death rate is 3 / 1000 or 0.3%. (aka IFR)
B. The formula the media use is 3 / 100 or 3%!! (aka CFR)

Obviously the real death rate is A and using B is propaganda because it makes the virus seem much more dangerous than it really is.
