It is THIS Commitee's responsibility to evaluate bills against the Charter of Human rights and it's general compliance when being tabled in Parliament (we've put some slides on this).
We're about to show them just how pissed the general public are.
We have done an email template and included the emails you need to send it to.
We are cc'ing in the ENTIRE committee, to make sure they all get the damn point.
Note, the part about being willing to speak is voluntary, and not super likely to happen, but it adds weight to your email and shows the committee how serious the public is.
We need to stop this bill getting to Parliament in it's current form.
As we've repeatedly mentioned, 95% of this bill is NOT a serious issue - it's an extension to what ALREADY EXISTS right now & allows for things like the Supreme Court to legally run trials virtually, aka the trial we all watched last week.
The amendments they are proposing though MUST get publicly debated, scruitinised and (obviously) thrown out and this is an actual route to do this.

Search and seizure without warrants, powers of PSO's and Police to "order... actions" and powers of interrogation, all on some flimsy basis of reducing "risk to public health", are all frankly disgusting.
