IMPORTANT:

As a direct result of Twitch choosing to feed their Streamers' content to AI training¹, my channel twitch.tv/microchelle will immediately be going on hiatus until I figure out if im still comfortable streaming there, or if I will move to a different streaming service.

Please know that I do enjoy streaming and interacting with you all, and it hurts me immensely to have to potentially migrate to a different platform. The channel's community means the world to me. I hope we can find a solution that works for as many of you as possible.

*WHY THIS IS HAPPENING*

Unfortunately, their "opt out" of AI training button states that is does NOT opt you out of everything². The terms and conditions it refers to are, unfortunately, vague while mentioning that everything from your chats in someone's streams, to (as a streamer) your likeness and voice may be fed into AI training. Raiding others who are not opted out is a risk as well. For the time being I refuse to trust it, and so should you.

Even more concerning is that they are openly admitting that this decision is being made against their users' wishes.³ Our input does not matter.

As a result of this, I strongly suggest that as many of us as possible take actions such as giving their app low ratings on app stores, avoid streaming on their platform for the time being, or avoid going on streams on their site. At the very least, please make sure youre opted out of AI training.

*And MOST IMPORTANTLY, we can not afford be silent or let this dissappear*

I will update you as soon as I can, but for the time being this decision is indefinite. I hope Bezos gets what he deserves.
