Encryption is a tool. Same way a knife is. Are you going to ban knives now because someone can jam it right into your spinal cord? Are we gonna have to baby-proof the world because you're the baby?

Oh, yeah, also, imagine if criminals were like "oh guess it's illegal I can't do that now" and just happily proceeded to talk publicly about everything they were doing. Do they seriously think this would happen? Even if this was a genuine concern, it arises out of a complete misunderstanding of how the internet works. You can't somehow ban e2e encryption. The said criminals will just use tools that do that illegally.

This doesn't solve any issues. This just puts data of normal people at risk.

It seems to be a worldwide trend to try to police the internet without knowing how it works. Take article 13 and whatever bullshit australia's up to these days.
