Service providers, including businesses and government departments, are prohibited from making the creation or use of a Digital ID a condition for accessing their services.
If a service provider requires a Digital ID, they must offer an alternative, reasonably accessible method that does not involve a Digital ID.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), acting as the Digital ID Regulator, enforces these rules and can take action against providers who violate them.
