I think I've settled on a laptop I need for video editing. I'm currently £400 away from getting it. The SSD is smaller than I'd like but I can swap that out for less than the price of a higher spec model, it's 16GB, 140HZ, i7 and 8GB RTX 3070. And 15 inch screen as it will be my only device for editing. I decided against a Mac in the end, despite my preference, as I can get more for less this way and editing on other people's Windows setups recently has made me see their improvement as creative machines.
I've just spent just over £50 on new filming gear, including stick, rig, tripod and a cold shoe. Many of you'll know the previous one disappeared and I've been borrowing one since, so it's a great opportunity for an improved setup. And hopefully less chance for my gear to get damaged by TSG.
