American Ugwin Coleman of North Carolina is sentenced to life in prison for a murder committed in 1976
Coleman raped, beat and strangled Elizabeth Ann Howell Wilson after attacking his victim after she had worked her shift at a textile mill.
The crime, which had been considered a cold case for more than three decades, was solved thanks to DNA technology. The investigation revealed that Coleman's DNA matched the DNA found at the crime scene.
The convicted man pleaded guilty during the trial.
