Dentre as grandes descobertas de Euler está a fórmula para poliedros, também conhecida apenas como relação de Euler, que foi demonstrada e publicada entre 1750 e 1751.

Esta relação possui extrema importância na determinação do número de arestas, vértices e faces de qualquer poliedro convexo e de alguns não convexos. Dessa forma, essa relação permite que os cálculos sejam realizados no intuito de indicar o número de elementos de um poliedro.
O estudo e generalização desta fórmula se deram especificamente através de Augustin-Louis Cauchy, Simon Antoine Jean L'Huillier, estando na origem da topologia.

Dentre as grandes descobertas de Euler está a fórmula para poliedros, também conhecida apenas como relação de Euler, que foi demonstrada e publicada entre 1750 e 1751.
