⚠️ A unidade "1 ano-luz" é a distância percorrida por algo viajando na velocidade da luz por um ano inteiro (~300 mil quilômetros por segundo). Assim, dizer que um objeto está a 55 milhões de anos-luz de distância significa que a luz emitida por ele levou 55 milhões de anos para chegar aqui.
Não estamos vendo o buraco-negro tal como ele é hoje, mas como ele era há 55 milhões de anos atrás. Aqui na terra na época que essa luz saiu do entorno do buraco negro, 55 milhões de anos atrás, os humanos não existiam e o ancestral primata mais próximo era o mamífero da imagem 3.
