Shahin Awani, born on August 18, 1952 in Semnan, is an Iranian philosopher & a member of the academic staff of Iranian Research Institute of Philosophy. Her researches are mostly in the philosophy of Kant, the philosophy of Plato, intercultural philosophy, moral philosophy & aesthetics. Awani is one of the founding members of Iranian Society of Intercultural Philosophy & is also currently a member of the board of directors of this association. Awani was the vice president of research and graduate studies at Wisdom and Philosophy Institute from 2002 to September 2010.

Abu Ishaq al-Kubunani was an Iranian mathematician, astronomer & writer of the 9th century AH. His name is mentioned in one of his works as Abu Ishaq Sheikhzadeh Ibn al-Khadim al-Burhani al-Kubnani. He was born in Kubunan in modern Kerman.
Abu Ishaq al-Kubunani is a famous scholar, philosopher & writer who also had studies in mathematics, astronomy & music, & his books & philosophical views were taught at the Sorbonne University in France. His manuscript collection includes eight treatises, which are kept in the central library of University of Tehran.
