✍️ در قرآن، در آیه ۲۹ از سوره دوم می‌خوانیم:
«او خدایى است که همه آنچه را (از نعمت‌ها) در زمین وجود دارد، براى شما آفرید»
طبق این آیه و آیات مشابه، خداوند همه موجودات را برای ما آفریده و به ما حق استفاده از آنها را داده است ولی این بدان معنی نیست که می‌توانیم هر طور که دوست داریم با آنها رفتار کنیم. لذا رعایت حقوق حیوانات را یکی از واجبات دینی قرار داده است
امام علی (ع) درباره مسئولیت انسان می‌فرماید:
«از خدا بترسيد، درباره کوتاهی از وظایفتان در قبال انسانها، زيرا شما مسئول هستيد حتى در برابر زمين‌ها و حیوانات. خدا را فرمان بريد و سر از فرمان او برمتابيد. خير را هر جاى، كه ديديد، برگيريد و شر را هر جاى كه ديديد، از آن اعراض كنيد»
