Bartender 6 Released.
They still force previous buyers to pay for the upgrade…Discounted as if that helps smh. Can’t imagine how many people switched over to an alternative.Bartender was my favorite and gave up on it since I paid for an upgrade once and never again.Doubt the new updates are even worth it anyways. Bartender completely fell off and only seek for profit.EDIT:Haven’t used bartender little over a year now. Been using Ice instead. But damn I still do miss Bartender…

After a hiatus, CardLocker is back!

Understandably, Apple eventually restricted it because their policy is that only organizations can handle sensitive information. Since then, I’ve formed an LLC. To be clear, CardLocker collects absolutely no data about the user, but Apple’s policy is still understandably strict when it comes to handling and properly safeguarding sensitive information while the app is in use. Built on the same Apple design language as the Passwords app, CardLocker is simply a tool to securely store your payment information and access it quickly. Intentionally lightweight but secure. Since being sidelined, it’s become a bit of an afterthought, so there may be some bugs—but I’ll get on it. Link (App Store)I’ll give away a few promo codes in celebration of it coming back online, but at some point I do have to make money! Comment below if you’d like one. Enjoy.

App to add caption/subtitle to video/gif/images ?
Hello, I'm looking a simple app to add captions to video or images for meme, real, short, call it how you like. Is there such an app ? Important criterias are :- support a wide range of file type- can easily edit the style for pretty captions- can change the captions over time- easy to use and lightweigth. I could do that with PremierePro or equivalent but it's too complex and slow but such a basic usageIf you have any recommendation it would be very nice ! Ideally free, if it's not expensive why not

I built an AI copilot that gives you real-time feedback during live interviews and meetings
Hi all,I am the developer behind Beyz. I built this for the moment: freezing up when asked a curveball question or lose track of key details in interviews/meetingsMost AI meeting tools focus on post-meeting summaries. I wanted something that helps during the conversation. Beyz listens to the audio in real-time and acts as a live HUD (Heads-Up Display) for your calls. What it actually does:• Interview Assistant: It analyzes the conversation context and your resume to suggest relevant STAR-format stories or answers while you are speaking. It helps prevent rambling by keeping you focused on the key points.• Coding Assistant: For technical screens, it doesn't just output code. It helps break down the logic, analyze time/space complexity, and suggests how to explain your solution verbally (which is often where candidates fail).• Meeting Assistant: For general work calls, it captures decision points and surfaces relevant context from previous discussions so you don't have to scramble through notes.• IQB Integration: We integrated a question bank of over 4,000 role-specific questions to help with mock practice. It is designed to be flexible regardless of your setup, so it is available on Web, Desktop, and Mobile.I would love to hear your thoughts on the suggestion quality and latency. You can try it out here: https://beyz.ai

I don’t understand Raycast
i read raycast so often lately, i went to the page and went through it. while i of course can read, i’m not sure i grasp it. while i understand that this has potential especially for me (i love and invent workflows and stuff that makes things faster and fluid), i really can’t easily come up with a usecase i really do see. … and i thought i‘m smart. Not so sure right now. Care to gimme some ELI5?

Is there an app to know all the shortcuts assigned to my system?
As the title says looking for an app that tells me all the shortcuts assigned to my mac like all the third party apps that are not included with fresh mac. Recently I assigned cmd+space to the app Highlight AI and it overwrote the shortcut for finder, similarly I have many apps so looking for an app which tells me all the shortcuts at one place.Tried KeyClu but it only gives me the system shortcuts.

Question for anyone using BetterTouchTools
I tried to give the permission then restarted 5 times, still the same error and also reinstalled after uninstalling, still the same issue. Another question is the latest version on the site is 6.010 (Jan 7 2026) whereas the one is my system is 6.095, how come?https://preview.redd.it/86uegdr7cseg1.png?width=2452&format=png&auto=webp&s=613a3a0f0530c7435da2a3f3695287672a42aba3https://preview.redd.it/q8spocr7cseg1.png?width=1534&format=png&auto=webp&s=4a630fdbe880bf9157b9331dd8e61a5c483c156aI thought I'll try the 45 day trial and see whats the hype all about. The about section of the page does not have any email ID, there is a forum though but I wish I don't have to create an account and login for an app before even trying it first.

PerVolume – Control volume per-app MacOS
Hey r/macapps 👋
I’m the developer behind PerVolume, a macOS app I’m currently finishing up.I started working on it because I kept running into the same issue: one app would be way too loud, another barely audible, and changing system volume affected everything at once. This happened constantly during calls or while multitasking, and it got annoying enough that I decided to build my own solution.PerVolume lets you control volume per app on macOS, independently and in real time.I’ve attached a short 20-second video demo with sound showing how it works.https://reddit.com/link/1qjbqj6/video/tutzvzatyreg1/playerMost alternatives feel either over-engineered or outdated. I focused on keeping PerVolume simple, lightweight, and fast. No complex setup, no extra features you don’t need, just quick per-app volume control that stays out of the way.A few additional notes:Works on macOS starting from Big SurRuns locally on your MacI’m actively collecting feedbackI’d really appreciate input from people here:Would this be useful in your daily workflow?Does anything feel missing or unclear from the demo? How do you currently handle different app volumes on macOS?I’m planning a one-time purchase (no subscription): $10I’m also thinking about giving 50% off promo codes to people who reach out before release — curious what you think about that idea.More details and contact info are on the site:

Syncing an Encrypted Database between Mac and iPhone
Assuming that I'm syncing an encrypted database for the first time from Mac to iPhone, is the following correct:The database is opened/decrypted on the Mac and syncs with end-to-end encryption while in transit. The files sync to a new database created on the iPhone, but it will not be an encrypted database. The database on the Mac will remain an encrypted database.

What are the best options out there for USB installers?
Looking for solid USB installer for my Mac, specifically the kind that works with all iso files (ie: Linux distros)When I search for this I end up with a bunch of USB installers that are specifically for burning macOS images, which isn't what I want. Can anyone point me in the right direction? My go-to was Etcher a few years back but from some recent posts it seems like they're now considered sketchy

Wispr flow is solid, But is there any alternatives?
Been using wispr flow for a few months. It's great for dictation but I'm realising I want something different.whatever I say there are limitations in the style of personalization. Are there any platforms which can know more about me or context knowledge of what matters to me.Does this exist?

RSS + Read Later App?
I feel like i've got a fairly decent pulse on various apps out there but i'm struggling to find something that solves a particular need of mine.I've previously used Reeder and while the new app is gorgeous and works perfectly fine, there's also tons of times where i'd like to add a number of one-off articles i've come across but haven't found a way to do that yet.So is there any app that combines both the ability to set specific feeds as well as individual links? That isn't Readwise, that is as i'm not interested in it at their current price point. I've looked at things like GoodLinks, Lire, ReadKit, and similar apps but they all either fall short of offering both it seems. Some like ReadKit allow adding links but only via the share sheet, and as i do most of my browsing via the desktop browser and Zen browser, i'm not really inclined to use the share sheet. Is there something out there that has something like an extension or clipper but also supports RSS?
