OOP-like philosophy isn't exclusive to software.
It actually belongs to a family of imperative synchronous logic systems closely related to Von Neumann architecture.
Consider a braindead simple binary counter, implemented directly via binary sequence (duh)
[Related to analog signal frequency division]
And using Von Neumann method, except I'm not that insane to solve it explicitly with million tables, like a moron, so I'll use phase transitions directly.
[Related to imperative symbolic logic]
As you can see, a convoluted and arbitrary approach to implementing straightforward things typical of OOP was inherited directly from our wonderful hardware architecture.
