If you guys hate Lightning, this interview is kind of a masterclass in exposing how much of a ghost town it is.

@FastOhSoFast Stop lying, please, Phil. Since 2018 I'm using #Bitcoin with the Lightning Network protocol. I literally never opened nor closed a LN channel during one of my 500-1,000 LN transactions over the years.

Just an example of how much complexity and room for horrible bugs there is in every tiny aspect of Lightning.

After upgrading the operating system of my node, I had some channels unilaterally closed by counterparties. And it keeps happening after two weeks. The CLN version is still the same as before. Payments are a bit less reliable but they still work most of the times. Hence connectivity should still be fine. So, why would they close unilaterally instead of cooperative?
this discussion is still going on after 5 years and a genuinely useful standard tested in the wild for years still has no expectation of ever being merged: https://github.com/lightning/bolts/pull/829

This is driving me crazy. I have three UTXOs on my cln node from channel closes. (Reserved: false when I do a listfunds) When I try to move them to another address, I get a message saying minimum relay fees not met and there's trouble broadcasting the transaction. Then those funds get a 72 block reserved status. 🤕. So I wait 12 hours and try again (of course I do a listfunds and see reserved: false). I get the same error and then a NEW 72 block reserved: true.
What the heck is happening. And can I somehow bypass that hold?
