🔻It's a stratovolcano, also known as a composite volcano.  This means it's a tall, conical volcano built up by layers of lava flows, tephra, and volcanic ash.

🔻The name "Vilyuchinsky" comes from the word "vilyu" in the language of the Itelmen people, the indigenous people of the Kamchatka Peninsula. "Vilyu" translates to "big," which is appropriate given the volcano's height.

🔻The volcano is a popular destination for hiking and ski touring. The slopes are relatively gentle and offer stunning views of the surrounding area.
