Russia is home to a vast number of people from different nationalities and faiths. Despite our differences, we treat each other with respect.

🔵However, every summer (regardless of the region in our vast and beautiful country, religion, gender, or nationality), a number of Russians traditionally divide themselves into two irreconcilably hostile categories:

Category 📝: те, кому жарко (those who are hot) with the air-conditioning off
and
Category 📝: те, кому дует (those who are drafty) with air-conditioning on.

🔵These particularly "bloody" battles unfold in air-conditioned offices.

🔵The struggle to "neutralize the icy air conditioning" against "creating an optimally cool temperature for brain function" continues until autumn, when the warring parties, breathing a sigh of relief, and unite to fight off autumnal depression, lovingly supporting each other with ginger tea and homemade pies.

Which category do you belong to?

Have you heard of the wooden beach on Krestovsky Island?

🔻This unique spot is a hidden gem in St. Petersburg, offering a truly unique experience.

🔻It's made entirely of wood!  The beach is covered in wooden planks, giving it a distinctive look and feel.

🔻It's perfect for families. The shallow waters and soft sand are ideal for kids to play, while the nearby playground and picnic areas make it a great place to spend a day with the family.

🔻Add this wooden beach to your to-visit list when you plan your trip to St. Petersburg!

😀Всем пламенный привет!

🔻Russian adverbs 'туда' and 'оттуда' are used to indicate direction in Russian.

1⃣ Туда
     [tu-da] - there
      To there, towards that place

• Пойдём туда.

  [pay-dyom tu-da]
  Let's go there.

🔻'Туда' is used with verbs of motion, such as идти (to go, come).

2⃣ Оттуда
     [at-tu-da]
     From there, from that place,
away from there

• Я приехал оттуда.
   [ya pri-ye-khal at-tu-da]
   I came from there.

🔻'Оттуда' is used with verbs of motion, such as приезжать (to arrive).

😀 In Russian colloquial speech, there's a sarcastic phrase:

• Я бы вас (тебя) послал, да вижу вы (ты) оттуда.
[ya by vas (ti-bya) pas-lal da vi-zhy vy (tu) at-tu-da]
🇬🇧 I'd send you (to hell), but I see you've just come from there.

⚠️Mind that it is pretty offensive!

Meanwhile in Russia...

In Kuntsevo (western district of Moscow) every day a man walks a puma (named Hercules) on a leash.

🔻Locals write complaints about it, but the owner of the big kitty says that there is no law to put a muzzle on a puma.

🇷🇺 По утрам мне особенно грустно!
🇬🇧 I feel especially sad in the mornings!

Preposition ПО means:

1.  Movement or direction:
• По лестнице
  [pa les-ni-tse]
  Up/down the stairs

2.  Time:
• По утрам
  [po ut-ram]
  In the mornings

3.  Distribution or Manner:
• По одному
  [pa ad-na-mu]
  One by one

4.  Purpose:
• По делу
  [pa de-lu]
  On business

5.  Following a certain pattern:
• По правилам
  [pa pra-vi-lam]
  According to the rules

6. Indicating a feature or characteristic:
• По матери я русский
  [pа ma-te-ri ya rus-skiy]
By my mother, I am a Russian. (I am a Russian by lineage.)

🔻Note that the preposition ПО is written separately. Do not confuse it with the adverbs 'потихоньку' (slowly) or 'по-русски' (in Russian).

🔻It's impossible to mention ALL cases when this preposition is used!
But for those who are eager to do it: check ▶️this and ▶️this

🔻To cry on my shoulder and complain on the difficulty of the Russian grammar is▶️here.

🎧🗣👇 Не грустите по утрам, товарищи! Всех обняла!
