🔻Prepositions 'В' and 'НА' are used to denote:
1) WHERE (ГДЕ?) the object is (+noun in prepositional case):

or
2) WHERE TO (КУДА?) the object moves (+ noun in accusative case):

🔻The preposition 'НА' ('at/on', literally: on) is used with nouns denoting еvents, with names of islands and peninsulas, and with points on the compass (+some exceptions -> see the link):

Русская Императорская Семья
🔻The Romanov family was the last imperial dynasty to rule Russia. They first came to power in 1613, and over the next three centuries, 18 Romanovs took the Russian throne, including Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, Alexander I and Nicholas II.
🔻Czar Nicholas II married Princess Alix of Hesse, a duchy in the German Empire in 1894. Alix (Alexandra Feodorovna) was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom.
🔻Nicholas and Alexandra had four daughters—Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia—and one son, Alexei.
🔻Czar Nicholas II and his entire family were later executed by Bolsheviks in 1917.
🔻The remains of the family were discovered in a mass grave in the Ural Mountains in 1991 and later in 2007. Subsequent DNA testing confirmed the identities of the whole Imperial Family.
🔻In 2000, the last Russian Emperor and his family were canonized by the Russian Church as holy passion-bearers.
