Seen a few people asking about Sam’s appeal today so here’s a quick update. The reason I haven’t mentioned it for a while is because hardly anything has happened for the last few months. It’s been a really slow process and nothing seems to move fast in the legal world.

Sam actually heard back from his barrister last week who believes that Sam does not have grounds to appeal the conviction but he does have grounds to appeal the sentence on the basis that Sam met all the requirements for a suspended sentence rather than a custodial sentence.

Really, it was the conviction that we wanted to appeal as this would remove the crime from Sam’s criminal record, and not just impact the time he serves. Sam is currently deciding what he wants to do but he’s been bogged down with getting legal advice for these new restrictions this week. He can get a second opinion regarding his appeal if he wants to.

On the PA stream about Sam on Friday evening I mentioned Sam’s Probation Officer who wrote Sam’s pre-sentencing report. This is what she wrote in the report:

“In discussion, Mr Melia spoke of Patriotic Alternative's belief that by 2060 the British white population will be a minority, 'replaced' by liberal social engineering. I asked how he calculated this figure, given it is at odds with National Statistics. The defendant clarified that he and his organisation only count white British and exclude Black, Asian or European British, suggesting it is not possible to acquire Britishness if you are not white.”

I just can’t even… Have you ever read anything as midwit as that? I haven’t even encountered that argument on Twitter. These are the people in charge of our future.

On the plus side, I bought a second hand rocking chair for £8. I’ve put it near the window and the plan is to rock my baby to sleep on it and enjoy the view outside. Just waiting for the novelty to wear off for my toddler as she won’t get off it at the moment 😅

If the races were reversed, this would be international news for weeks.
