Just been to visit Sam for the first time in his new prison - HMP Hull. It’s a much nicer prison than Leeds! It has a much more relaxed atmosphere and the security isn’t as strict. The children’s play area is bigger and there are staff there doing things with the kids. And there’s also a cafe where you can order proper food, unlike at Leeds where it was more of a tuck shop. Got Sam a pizza and he was dead chuffed 😁 The visits are for two hours instead of one hour like at Leeds too. Also, HMP Hull is almost entirely White. I didn’t see any foreigners while I was there and Sam says there’s only one black guy on his whole wing.

Hey all. It is Sam’s birthday on 9th June. He is still a political prisoner in HMP Hull and I wondered if you would all join me in helping to fill his cell with birthday cards.

I know I’m a bit early with it still being two weeks away, but he has friends abroad who I thought might like to send him a card, and even within England it takes them about a week or so for them to actually deliver his post within the prison.

This was baby Sara born at 23 weeks. In the UK the Mother and the NHS can terminate babies like Sara by having them decapitated in the womb then suctioned out with a hoover. This is what they call 'healthcare choices'.

If there’s a bug on the floor my toddler will spot it, even if it’s only 1mm in size. And then she’ll watch it until it disappears. She’s obsessed with insects. Now she’s got her own personality I’m starting to see that she’s a little tomboy, just like I was at that age. Thank god I’m not some rabid lefty. I’d be cutting her hair and calling her they/them.

Not sure if I’m a year behind everybody else but I deal with quite a lot of post and parcels and this is the first stamp I’ve seen with King Charles on!

Spoke to Sam last night and he told me he’s already received some birthday cards in his mail.

Hey folks. If you've checked the Patriotic Alternative website today you will have learned that my husband, political prisoner Sam Melia, has been banned by the state and HMP Hull from having any contact with his children while he is in prison. Not only this, but he is not allowed any photographs of our children, and I'm not even allowed to mention them to him when I speak with him.

After serving three months of his sentence already and having full contact (including visits) with our two-year-old and one-month-old daughters, they have now decided that Sam is a Person Posing Risk to Children (PPRC) because of Sam's "racist posters, insignia and literature" and "racist and offensive attitudes".

We have been dealing with this for the past week or so behind the scenes and Sam gave them until today to fix it, informing them that if it wasn't resolved we would go public with the news. Well, it is not resolved, so we will keep to our word and let the world know how the British state treats good men like Sam. Tonight at 7pm on Patriotic Alternative's monthly update for May, I will tell you everything.

This is the response we got from the prison when we complained about the restrictions. Posting this in case anybody wants to look further into it.
