I've always said that a child ideally needs a mother and a father, but since having my own child, my thoughts on this have just become stronger. I understand that sometimes life doesn't always work out like that and I am not criticising single parents who care deeply for their children, but why intentionally take a baby away from their mother? I think it's an horrific thing to do.

When your baby is inside the womb where it grows for nine months, it bonds with the mother. It recognises her voice and smell and feels comfort at her heartbeat. Sam is a fantastic dad but sometimes our daughter just wants me. She feels comfort in my scent and when I feed her. Why take that away from a child?

Look at the response from black people when one black girl is strip-searched by the police. Hundreds of people (including an MP) march through the streets in protest. I'm not saying this is wrong. They're defending one of their own. I only wish more of our people would do the same.
