The new GCSE figures show that Black students make progress throughout the education system (they enter the system at age 5 performing around 5% worse than White students, but that increases to only 1.5% worse by the time they do their GCSEs), whereas the gap continues to widen between students on a low income (students on Free School Meals) and students who aren’t.
London, a city which is minority “White British” (44.89% “White British” in 2011 and likely around 35% today) experienced the largest increase in top performers.

"A shopkeeper who gave two girls aged 13 and 14 cigarettes in return for kisses has been given a suspended prison term.
Gloucester Crown Court heard Fozlu Raman carried out the activity at his convenience store in Falkner Street.
The 54-year-old, of Barton Street, Gloucester, had denied two charges of sexual activity with children but changed his pleas to guilty as his trial was about to start."
