A medium-range Buk-M2E surface-to-air missile (SAM) air defense system with the Venezuelan Army at the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda (La Carlota) Air Base in Caracas, destroyed by the US airstrikes earlier today.

Venezuelan Army is believed to have ≈12 Buk-M2 systems on 6x6 wheel trucks, with some of them operated by the Venezuelan Marine Corps to protect Navy installations west of Caracas.

US Attorney General of the Department of Justice, Pam Bondi, has announced that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife have been indicted in the Southern District of New York and charged with “Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy,” and will soon be in American courts.

“Ghosts” drone unit of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) is thought to have destroyed a Belarusian-Chinese “Polonez” Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), according to footage released by the GUR and analyzed by Ukrainian milbloggers. GUR first reported that it was a S-300V surface-to-air missile system in the Crimean Peninsula.

Just for comparison: Transport and Launch Containers (TLCs) of the S-300V SAM are round, whereas the Launch Pods in the Polonez MLRS are square.

Correction: It’s indeed a S-300V SAM system, thanks to the clarification made by Russian milblogger. It appears that distortions caused by the drone footage caused the TLCs to look square.

Estimated locations of US airstrikes against military and communication targets across Venezuela and its capital, Caracas.

About 15 airstrikes were visually confirmed across the country, with 11 of them in Caracas. Most if not all of them were conducted before US Army’s 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment–Delta (1st SFOD-D), aka Delta Force, captured the Venezuelan President and his wife, with the participation of personnel from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Federal Bureau for Investigations (FBI).

The explosion was caused by an unidentified person who fired a rocket that landed in the vicinity of Mezzah Military Airport.
