US 5th Fleet and the Israeli Navy completed Joint “Intrinsic Defender” exercise, which took place over five days in the Mediterranean Sea area, the Haifa Bay region, the Nahariya region, and the Red Sea arena, and included different exercises including sabotage and mine neutralization, responses to maritime intrusion threats, diving and search operations, boarding scenarios, and medical training. In addition, the US P-8 Poseidon aircraft and the Israeli Sahar 5–class missile corvette trained in creating a joint air-maritime situational picture.

Today, an ISIS ambush killed two US Army personnel and an American civilian, and injured three others while they were conducting a patrol in coordination with the General Security Forces of Syria in Palmyra, Central Syria.

In response, the US Central Command (USCENTCOM) scrambled F-16 “Fighting Falcon” fighter jets in the area along with several patroling teams. The vitcims were transferred onboard a helicopter to the Joint Al-Tanf base east of the country.

During last night's attack, the missiles targeted the Odesa Thermal Power Plant. The drones targeted both the thermal power plant, and a series of electrical substations around the city and in the region.
