🇷🇺 Imagery from “Umbra Space” synthetic aperture radar (SAR)-capable satellite, captured yesterday morning, shows Russia’s far east Rybachiy nuclear submarine base in Kamchatka peninsula to have been damaged by the tsunami that swept the country’s Pacific coast, which was triggered by an 8.8 magnitude earthquake, benting a section of one pier away from its original position.

The base houses most of the nuclear submarines in Russia’s Pacific Fleet, including newer Borei-class craft and Soviet-era Deltas.

📰🇷🇺/🇮🇷 According to Iranin defense site Birun, Iran conducted its first live operational test of the Russian-made S-400 “Triumf” air defense system near Isfahan on July 26.

The test involved a fully configured battery, including the 91N6E “Big Bird” surveillance radar, the 92N6E “Grave Stone” engagement radar, command-and-control (C2) units, and 5P85TE2 launchers.

Missiles used were likely 48N6E3 and possibly the 40km-range 40N6. Local activity and radar signals detected by Iranian OSINT platforms, according to the site, suggest the test was part of a broader air defense drill.

📰🇮🇷/🇮🇱/🇺🇸 According to al-Monitor, citing an Israeli security source, #Israel’s aerial campaign in the 12-Day War against Iran took the nuclear program back one to two years.

He added that there is no active nuclear project in #Iran, and the reconstruction will take time. In the event of a complete destruction to the program, the source said that this is an impossible task from a military point of view in light of the broad dispersal of the project and its defenses, but he insisted that the goal of removing Iran's immediate nuclear threat and causing heavy damage to the project has been fully achieved.

Asked about the uranium Iran currently possesses, the source said that turning the remaining stockpiles into weapons-grade fissile material would entail a complex engineering process requiring six months to a year to accomplish, and that chances of US or Israeli intelligence being unaware of such activity are negligible to none.

🇺🇸 The US Navy Submarine Fleet includes 14 ballistic missile subs, 4 guided-missile subs, and ≈50 fast attack subs. Ohio-class SSBNs (Ship, Submersible, Ballistic, Nuclear) are the most survivable leg of the nuclear triad.

SSBNs continuously patrol both coasts of the US and often deploy deep into the Atlantic and Pacific. At any given time, at least 3-4 are likely underway, and several within striking distance of Moscow. They are always out there, but additional boats could be deployed or repositioned closer to Russia.
