During the meeting, Putin described the situation surrounding US President Donald Trump’s calls for resuming nuclear tests — after a halt of 33 years — as a “serious issue.” His Defense Minister, Andrei Belousov, stated that he considers it appropriate to begin immediate preparations for nuclear tests at the Novaya Zemlya testing site, and added that the US conducted an exercise practicing a preemptive nuclear missile strike against Russia on October, and is planning to deploy missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, with a flight time from Germany to central Russia of 6–7 minutes.

🇺🇸 Overnight, at around roughly 01:35am Pacific Time, Nov. 5, 2025, the 576th Flight Test Squadron of the U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) carried out the regularly scheduled launch of a LGM-30G “Minuteman III” Unarmed Nuclear-Capable Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.

The ICBM traveled approximately 4,200 miles, landing within the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command’s Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site located on Kwajalein Atoll within the Republic of the Marshall Islands in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean.

Despite claims made by several accounts and individuals, this was a routine test launch that occurs several times annually, and has nothing to do with current events or President Trump’s recent announcement regarding the resumption of nuclear testing in Nevada.
