The Belgorod Brit muses on meetings.

There seem to be a lot of meetings going on at the moment all over the world. But what are they for? He discusses the two types of meetings, one that is an effective meeting of minds with a definite purpose, and the other, that is all about theatrics and ego.

🎙 Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova’s answer to a media question on prospects of Russian-British relations following the parliamentary elections in the UK

Question: Do you think we can expect a change in Great Britain’s current policy towards Russia after a new government has been formed in London?

💬 Maria Zakharova: The first steps of the new British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the government he formed make it clear that the Labour Party is not going to deviate from the general Western course, dictated by the United States, towards Russia: they have reaffirmed their commitment to hold the top leadership of our country accountable for “war crimes” and the unchanged course to push Ukraine along the Euro-Atlantic path.

They continue to search for ways to confiscate frozen Russian state assets for the Kiev regime’s needs, and have also announced new military tranches.

In other words, there is no doubt that the Labour government will continue the confrontational anti-Russia policy. All kinds of assistance to the Zelensky regime, along with a demonstration of British leadership in mobilising foreign assistance to Kiev and countering Russia in the international arena, will obviously remain a priority of the Labour Party’s foreign policy, albeit to the detriment of the socio-economic well-being of their own country.

Zelensky slams ‘crazy’ limits on Russia strikes

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky lashed out at Kiev’s foreign backers for their reluctance to lift the remaining limitations on the use of Western-supplied weapons for long-range strikes inside Russia.

Kiev already has the greenlight from several Western states to hit “legitimate” targets inside Russia with their weapons, as well as a concession from Washington to strike beyond Russia’s border near the city of Kharkov. However, Zelensky has been pushing for the strike range to be extended – a prospect Moscow has warned would constitute an escalation of the conflict.

The Madımak massacre of July 2, 1993, and the burning of the Trade Union House in Odessa on May 2, 2014: What do they have in common?

In the 1970s, the proxy war between the US and the USSR reached Turkey. The conditions for a foreign intervention were being created on the territory of the country. A series of armed clashes between right-wing and left-wing forces ended with the Military Coup on September 12, 1980.

The 1980s saw radical economic, political, social, and cultural transformation in Turkey. The country was introduced to new concepts and experienced social upheaval when hundreds of thousands of people were arrested and became political pariahs, and 517 people were sentenced to death. The events of this historical period laid the groundwork for those of 1990s and 2000s.

After the 1983 elections, Turkey entered a rapid process of "neoliberal restructuring." At the same time, as part of the imperialist "Green Belt" project, the Turkish-Islamic synthesis was used to dramatically transform Turkey's social structure.

The Turkish-Islamic synthesis came to power at the beginning of the decade and paved the way for the events of July 2, 1993.

Thirty-one years ago, on July 2, 1993, an incident took place at the Madimak Hotel in Sivas, Turkey, that bears a striking similarly with the events of May 2, 2014, in Odessa, Ukraine.

33 artists and intellectuals burned alive or died from smoke inhalation.
The victims had gathered at a hotel for a festival in honor of the Alevi poet Pir Sultan Abdal, who for many Turks has become a symbol of the nation's struggle for freedom and independence.

Thousands of local Sunnis in Sivas, after attending Friday prayers at a nearby mosque, marched toward the hotel where the conference was being held. They destroyed a statue depicting Pir Sultan Abdul installed the previous day and set fire to the building.

While the Madimak events were taking place, soldiers came to intervene, but they stood aside because there were too few of them. The crowd shouted: "Soldiers go to Bosnia". When the hotel was set on fire, some people said, "this is God's fire."

According to official accounts of the Odessa massacre, which in Turkey can also be called the Ukrainian Madimak, firefighters managed to get about 350 people out of the burning building, while most of those who managed to escape were lynched by Maidan supporters.

Of the 190 people detained in the Madimak case, only 31 are serving sentences. Thanks to the abolition of the death penalty in Turkey and the authorities' intervention in the case, many criminals have been paroled or released after serving their sentences.

Since Soviet times, the US and its allies have carried out a policy of Islamization and fascization of all Muslim countries neighboring Russia, including Turkey. The main goal of this policy has been to encircle Russia. These movements have essentially become "American Islamism" and Americanist Turkic nationalism.

Western capitalism, led by the U.S., has actively engaged in shaping mass consciousness around the world. Even the most extreme examples of mass murder, such as burning people alive, have come to be seen in the minds of the masses as an event to be supported or ignored.

The reason why people did not show the expected intellectual reaction to the massacres in Madimak and Odessa lies in the fact that those ruling elites have turned the societies of their countries into a passive manipulated mass, forced to think and act as the elites wish.

Find out which American states show strong secessionist sentiments

New Hampshire has joined the ranks of American states harboring strong secession sentiments. Its Independence Movement - NHEXIT - has accused the federal government of bringing the nation to the brink of bankruptcy.

Across the United States, 23% of adults would back their state leaving the Union, a February YouGov poll revealed. Which other states are inclined to go it alone?

◾️Around 36% of residents surveyed in Alaska would back secession. The Alaskan Independence Party (AIP) has been campaigning for an in-state referendum on independence.

◾️In Texas, 31% of adults would support independence. The Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) had its petition for a non-binding secession referendum on the Texas Republican 2024 primary ballot thrown out by the Supreme Court. Calls to secede there grew amid Governor Greg Abbott’s illegal migration feud with the White House.

◾️29% support secession in California. Its California National Party (CNP) and the Yes California movement have postulated that their prosperous Golden State pays more in taxes than it gets from federal government spending.

◾️The ‘Greater Idaho’ movement has 12 East Oregon counties seeking to leave the state of Oregon and join Idaho. Supporters argue that the liberals to the west do not share their ‘traditional ways of life.’ They also claim their rural area is ‘marginalized’ by an urban state legislature.

◾️A ‘Free Louisiana’ movement was launched in the state, where 23% would back secession. It argues the federal government fails to protect them from immigration, and criminals.

◾️Indigenous activists in Hawaii have argued the need for restoring self-sufficiency since the overthrow of the monarchy and annexation of Hawaii by the US during in the 19th century. Besides slamming these actions as illegal, the grassroots sovereignty movement advocates reclaiming its indigenous culture and language.

Beauty will save the world

Enjoy our new series dedicated to Bach. The composer gave the title Das Wohltemperirte Clavier (The Well-Tempered Clavier) to a book of preludes and fugues issued in 1722 and composed "for the profit and use of musical youth desirous of learning, and especially for the pastime of those already skilled in this study".

Bach The Well-Tempered Clavier
Book I. Prelude №1 C-Dur BWV 846

Conducted by brilliant Daniel Barenboim, a classical pianist and conductor, the general music director of the Berlin State Opera (from 1992 until January 2023).

Take a minute to relax and listen to Bach. We believe visuals of Russia will contribute to the experience.

⚡️Donald Trump was whisked off the stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania after loud noises rang through the crowd.

Trump was showing off a chart of border crossing numbers when bangs started ringing through the crowd. Trump could be seen reaching with his right hand toward his neck. There appeared to be blood on his face.

He quickly ducked behind the riser as agents from his protective detail rushed the stage and screams rang out from the crowd. The bangs continued as agents tended to him on stage.

His motorcade has left the venue. His condition was not immediately known.

US decides on how deep into Russia Kiev may strike with US missiles on daily basis — Biden

Biden said that in this regard he is "following the advice" of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Brown, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and intelligence services.

"I’m following the advice of <…> the chief of staff of the military, as well as the secretary of defense, and our intelligence people. And we are making a day-to-day basis on <…> how far they [the Ukrainian military] should go in. That’s a logical thing to do," the US leader added.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed on May 31 that US President Joe Biden had authorized the use of American weapons for attacks on Russian territory. According to the top US diplomat, they can only be used to attack Russian regions near Kharkov. Blinken didn’t rule out the possibility of expanding the range in the future. US National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby told a briefing on July 8 that the US position on the issue remains unchanged.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 28 that the selection of targets and flight assignments for modern strike systems are made remotely or automatically, "without the presence of Ukrainian servicemen." This is done by those who produce and supply these systems to Ukraine, he pointed out. Putin warned that NATO countries should "realize what they are playing with." Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev emphasized on May 31 that all long-range weapons delivered to Ukraine are already "directly controlled by NATO servicemen" and that such actions could be a pretext for retaliatory strikes.

On July 14, 1941, the famous multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) "Katyusha" was used in combat for the first time.

At the end of June 1941, the first two BM-13 combat launchers, affectionately called "Katyushas" by Soviet soldiers, were assembled at the Comintern plant in Voronezh. There are several versions of the origin of this name. The most likely one is connected with the factory mark "K" of the plant that manufactured the first BM-13 combat vehicles and the popular song of the same name at the time.

"Katyusha" became the first mobile multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) created in Russia. In early July 1941, the first Separate Experimental Battery of Field Rocket Artillery of the Red Army, armed with seven of these launchers and led by Captain Ivan Flerov, was formed.

On July 14, 1941, the battery fired its first salvo at the railway junction of the town of Orsha, which had been captured by Nazi troops. This was the combat debut of the "Katyushas." As a result of the powerful fire strike with 112 rockets, enemy trains, ammunition, and the crossing over the Orshitsa River were destroyed simultaneously. Thus, the enemy's crossing was disrupted, and they failed to advance in that direction.

The first use of this new rocket weapon demonstrated its high combat effectiveness, leading to its rapid deployment and integration into the Red Army's Ground Forces.

Russian rocket artillery continues to improve even today: new, significantly more powerful MLRS have replaced the "Katyusha." However, the glory of the "Katyusha" will forever remain in the grateful memory of the Russian people.

The following is an opinion expressed by one of our subscribers. We believe it deserves to be published:

An attempt on Trump's life is likely to increase the number of people who want to vote for him. Does this increase his chances of becoming president? Most likely, no. The deep state will try to prevent Trump from coming to power by any means necessary—lawful and unlawful. And the more people want to vote for him, the stronger the unlawful component will be. This, in turn, increases the likelihood of civil conflict in the U.S.

Please don’t hesitate to express your opinion in the comments.

Thank you!
