Storytime: A Mother's Tears
There was once a mother who bore a beautiful golden son. Strong, Fast, Loving, all the things a son should be. Until he died. The Mother Then had another son who excelled in weaponry but was alas a lazy wastrel and she could not look at him without being reminded of her first beloved son and would break into tears.
One day she saw pass by her house the Souls of Children in procession behind their Queen Perchta. At once she began to look for her child but when she could not find him she wailed in her deep grief then at the end behind the others she saw him. She went to him and tears in her eyes asked "My Dear Son, Why are you walking by yourself and not with the Other Children? Do they make you do so? Are they unkind to you?"
The Child shook his head he was at peace and treated well among Perchta and the children. But from his hands he held out a jar "This Jar contains all of the tears you have been shedding for me, I fear that if it gets much more full I shall be unable to keep up and be lost".
The Woman upon hearing her sons spirit steeled herself to her grief, never did she forget her beloved son, but she wept no more for him and thus his burden was lightened.

Some versions of this tale will have different variations such as his clothes are soaked in her tears instead of a jar or omit Perchta in favor of another figure Christian or Pagan but the general moral is the same, the Tears of the living do not comfort the dead for them we must live.

The Modern day casts Werewolves as Cursed beings, monsters to be slain, horrors to be overcome!
But Let us talk of something far Older, Eldritch, from the mists of the ancient past! A dark beast covered in thick brown fur, the Wolfman that prowls the moors and mounds of ancient Celtic lands, ever present, never changing. NAY this beast nar shifts from man to wolf nor wolf to man but lays eternally between the two worlds! Leith and lean muscles rippling beneath his pelt, his sharp eyes flashing, his long pointed teeth exposed in an eerie grin! His "people" carry the name Wulver!
The Wulver striking fear into fish everywhere! As they can often be found along the banks of rivers or lakes, line cast in the water refusing to consider the fear that trembles in the hearts of the poor fish which he would gladly drag from their safe waters!
If this image is not horrifying enough! Well it is said they often catch more than they could possibly eat delivering their excess carnage leaving these innocent fish upon the window sills of hungry peasants! The same Peasants that they lead out of the wilds where they would surely perish! There is even tell of similar beasts across the Ocean amongst the Northern Midwest Where Dogmen much akin to the Wulver are honored and thanked by the people of the Northwoods! Those Poor Fishies!

The Morrigan, Phantom Queen
The Morrigan her name quickens the hearts of the most steadfast of men. Her eyes pierce down to our core, her hands caressing our very souls. The Primal the pure, the feminine at its most wild and bestial.
The very earth opening beneath her feet trapping armies beneath roots and stone, blood soaking her tender calloused hands. The Wolf Song is her chorus the Ravens are her eyes. The Marauders are her children tearing apart the reigns of false kings and craven oligarchs.
The Strength, Courage, and Innocence of the Men is what brings her joy as she lifts heroes to prominence, yet in the Women the Morrigan finds merely scorn for all but those that embody the best of them all. The Women of Noble disposition akin to Grace O'Malley. To any lesser women the best she can offer is indifference or a far worse fate: a life of madness, to be torn apart by wolves or flayed alive by the Morrigan's artful hands, plunging over a cliff babbling all the while, eyes pecked out by her beloved ravens. Such are the fates of foolish women who call to her, for her heart beats solely for the Men who so quicken her soul, filling her belly with New Children with which to populate the lands with Great and Terrible Heroes!

The Legendary Lumberjack, The God of the Northwoods, Mr. Minnesota, The American Hercules, America's Greatest Legendary Figure The One the Only Paul Bunyan!
Today is the Day to Celebrate Paul Bunyan who created the Great Lakes, Pike's Peak, Yellowstone Falls, North and South Dakota, The Missouri and the Mississippi Rivers, The Lakes of Minnesota among many other creations and escapades. No other figure save perhaps Santa Claus has such a breadth of tales and adoration as Ol' Paul Bunyan.
His statues dot the countryside, his visage is the standard for the masculine american man, he fought other giants, had a Crew of Magical Smiths and Time Warping Accountants, a Herd of Oxen lead by his great and ever present companion Babe The Big Blue Ox, The God of the Northwoods the great and powerful... and admittedly darn Funny Paul Bunyan.-TLK

...And it is said by folks that eventually Paul Bunyan moved his lumber camp far to the northern skies where he and his friends ruckuss and play their days away having left the lands in sorrow as the people he once so admired turned to machines and modernization in favor of living with the land. But you can still see him for when they roughhouse and play Paul, Babe, and all the rest their joy is so bright that the very sky lights up from the North and we call it The Northern Lights.
See that, that is Paul letting you know it'll all be alright. Many folks have found their way to his camp over the years and they join him in their joys, no longer bound by the mechanization of modern sorrow.
